ABOUT THIS BOOK
Description
Every husband and wife, at the beginning of their marriage, usually build the foundation of how their life together will be. The early stage of marriage is a major opportunity for a woman—if she uses it wisely and justly, without selfishness, she can lay a strong foundation for a successful and lasting home. But if the opposite happens, the woman loses her chance early, the home begins to collapse, and the man starts living his life as he pleases.
This is exactly what happened in Usman’s house. He married his wife Fatima out of love, and she was also his cousin by blood. At first, they lived together peacefully and happily, enjoying their relationship. But things later began to fall apart because they failed to build a strong foundation for their home.
Usman loved his wife and treated her well according to his ability. She also respected and cared for him and his family. However, this did not stop him from looking at other women. His desire for women was deeply rooted in him, and this was his greatest weakness in life.
By nature, Fatima was very jealous. She loved Usman deeply, so she made it her mission to prevent any woman from getting close to him. She believed that Allah had blessed her with a tall, handsome, and strong husband—a successful man admired by many. She saw him as her entire world, her everything, and even her path to paradise. Therefore, she felt it was her duty to do everything possible to ensure no other woman took him away from her.
Usman was a very stylish and neat young man, very clean and attractive, a young businessman who was well known in trade circles. He dealt in various goods and also sold cars. However, Fatima had weaknesses when it came to cleanliness and household management. She did not care much about keeping the house tidy, everything was often scattered, and she was not good at cooking. These were her shortcomings, and that was how they lived their life together.
Eventually, she gave birth to her first child, a baby boy named Ibrahim, commonly called Mu’azzam.
She trusted Usman completely and never suspected him of wrongdoing. Even if he left his phone at home, she did not bother to check it because of how much she trusted him. But as the saying goes, when someone eats a fig, they do not expose its inside—there are things that remain hidden.
There came a day she would never forget, because on that day she discovered who her husband truly was and learned about a hidden side of him she never knew existed.
At that time, she had not yet completed forty days after giving birth to Mu’azzam. There was a young woman in their neighborhood named Lami. She was an adult woman who had stayed in her father’s house for a long time without getting married. She was much older than Fatima.
Lami was one of those people whose exact religious commitment was unclear. She neither prayed nor attended church, but she maintained good relations with Fatima’s parents and would often visit Fatima’s house to chat with her.
One evening, she came over while they were talking, and suddenly Mu’azzam’s father returned home. They exchanged greetings, and Lami stood up to leave.
Smiling, he said:
“No, sit down. Or are you trying to avoid letting me hear the gossip you’re sharing?”
