ABOUT THIS BOOK

Description

A Mansion of Wealth
“It was a house that looked like an entire town placed inside a single compound. Even at first sight you could tell that millions of naira had been spent there. From the main gate to the building itself, everything was breathtaking.
Even I was amazed by the structure of the huge and beautiful mansion, a house built as if its owners believed death would never come.
They were seated around a massive dining table. The only sound in the room was the clinking of cutlery. Suddenly, from above, they heard the sound of high heels walking down the stairs — Kwass! Kwass! Kwass!
Even without seeing her, they already knew who it was. They simply continued eating the food in front of them.
The Arrival of Hajia Babba
A beautiful woman appeared. She was fair-skinned, not extremely pale, and looked no older than 44 or 45 years old. She had a moderate, graceful figure. She wore a black abaya with white stripes, her head wrapped neatly, and her hands were decorated with extremely expensive bracelets that sparkled as she walked with dignity toward the dining table.
One of the housemaids, Mina, quickly pulled out a chair for her.
Hajia Babba sat down.
“Good morning, Hajia Babba,” everyone at the dining table greeted her respectfully.
“Morning,” she replied.
Mina served her food, and she began eating calmly.
Meanwhile, in another room, a handsome young man approached a bed carrying a plate of food. His face was bright with a gentle smile.
“Ammi, good morning. How are you feeling?” he said softly.
The woman on the bed nodded her head slightly.
He began feeding her with deep affection, the way a loving son cares for his mother. Only after he was sure she had eaten enough did he place the plate on the carpet in the bedroom.
He released a heavy breath.
“Wallahi, Ammi, seeing you like this breaks my heart,” he said weakly, his eyes filling with tears. “I tried everything I could just so Rehman would return to Nigeria, but he refused all my efforts.”
“Insha Allah I will not stop calling him again. He knows the condition you are in. It has been almost thirteen years since he left this country.”
“Please be calm, Ammi. Insha Allah, Allah will heal you the way you were before,” he said, trying to comfort her while wiping the tears from her face.
A Dark Threat
Suddenly they heard someone clearing her throat behind them.
Ashraf quickly turned around. When he saw who it was, he immediately stood up, trembling.
“Hajia Babba…”
She gave a small side smile and gestured for him to leave.
Ashraf quickly left the bedroom, his body shaking.
Hajia Babba stepped closer to the bed and placed one of her feet on it. She rubbed the ring on her finger. A strange light flashed from the ring and moved directly toward Ammi.
Ammi took a deep breath.
“Lubna, why are you so stubborn?” Hajia Babba said. “For something so small you are willing to destroy your life and live in humiliation?”
Ammi opened her mouth in disbelief.
“Indeed, if I had accepted your evil plan long ago, would I be suffering like this today?”
Hajia Babba covered her mouth slightly and laughed.
“Do you really think I cannot achieve my desires?” she said coldly.
“Don’t forget that your son’s life is in danger. And you — you are already powerless. You cannot even move your legs or speak to anyone unless I allow it. You can see what I have already done to you.”
She smiled wickedly.
“Are you people even human… or are you devils?” Ammi said painfully.
“Call us whatever you want,” Hajia Babba replied.
“Now it is your turn. This is your final warning. If you do not do what I want, I will completely destroy your lives.”
She clicked her tongue angrily.
Ammi replied through tears:
“There is nothing you can truly do to us. Every human has their destiny in life. This is the destiny Allah has written for me. And Insha Allah, the end of oppressors like you will never be good.”
Tears streamed down her face as she spoke, pain filling her heart.
Angered by Ammi’s words, Hajia Babba turned and walked toward the door, leaving the bedroom deep in thought.
