ABOUT THIS BOOK

Description

ZARINAT PART 1 COMPLETE HAUSA NOVEL
The Secret Return
Nasir crept into the dimly lit house like a thief. His wife Fatima smiled warmly from her prayer mat, but his mother Inna's voice cut through the silence:
"Allah expose your secrets! You slink in like a criminal!"
Nasir handed Fatima a package of meat. Inna counted the pieces suspiciously. "Twelve cuts? Last week you brought fifteen!" Fatima quietly took the meat to the kitchen as Inna muttered about ungrateful sons.
A Mother's Ultimatum
Meanwhile, Ansar knelt before his mother, desperation in his eyes.
"Please cancel this marriage! Zarinat and I swore to marry years ago!"
His mother adjusted her hijab sternly.  Your cousins decided this union. Will you shame us?" When Ansar mentioned speaking to his father, she scoffed: Even if he agrees, will you disobey Allah's plan?"
The Unwilling Bride
Zarinat stared at her reflection in the ornate bedroom mirror. Her mother's words still burned:
"Ansar will be your husband next Thursday."
"But he's like a brother!" Zarinat had protested.
Her mother applied kohl to Zarinat's trembling eyelids. "This marriage binds our families. Your tears will dry."
Two Wives, One Home
The wedding feast overflowed with spiced rice and honey cakes. Zarinat sat motionless in her crimson gown while Ansar's first wife Husna danced, her gold bangles chiming.
That night, Ansar went to Husna's chambers. Zarinat peeled off her henna-stained wedding dress alone, pressing her face into the silk pillows to muffle her sobs.
Kitchen Conflicts
Back in Nasir's home, Fatima burned the soup. Inna slapped the ladle from her hand.
"Useless girl! Even fire rejects your cooking!"
Nasir returned with a gift - powder and lip gloss for Fatima. Inna's eyes narrowed. "You spoil her while we eat dust!"
An Unexpected Bond
Weeks later, Ansar found Zarinat crying over her university books. To his surprise, he sat beside her.
"I'll take you to visit your family," he offered.
When she served him breakfast the next morning, their fingers brushed. For the first time, Zarinat didn't pull away.
The Ice Cream Truce
Driving to her parents' house, Ansar stopped at a market.
"Which flavor?" he asked, holding out two ice cream cones.
Zarinat hesitated, then pointed to the pink one. As they licked the melting treats, Ansar made her laugh with a story about his clumsy cousin. The tension between them thawed like the ice cream in the afternoon sun.
Foreshadowing
That evening, Husna watched from her window as Ansar carried Zarinat's luggage inside. Her grip tightened on the curtain. "Enjoy your small victory, little wife," she whispered.
Meanwhile, Inna intercepted Nasir handing Fatima money. "I see everything," she warned, her voice dripping with menace.
