ABOUT THIS BOOK
Description
Baffa quickly returned to the house and found Saheer sitting on a chair, holding his head in a state of distress and agitation. Baffa stopped in his tracks; hearing Mama screaming earlier, he had assumed Saheer had fainted, but instead, he found him sitting with his head buried in both hands.
He walked over just as Mama was speaking angrily, saying, "Is she made of gold? Since she chose money over loyalty, why not just leave her alone? Is she the only woman in the world that you would kill yourself over her? You just escaped from the hands of kidnappers, and your body hasn't even recovered yet. If you kill yourself, you're only harming yourself, not her. She got married into a wealthy home and left you here lost in useless, foolish thoughts. Forget about her, because she is a married woman now. Take care of your own health."
At that moment, Baffa placed a hand on his shoulder. Saheer raised his bloodshot eyes and looked at Baffa, then held Baffa's hand, his voice trembling heavily as he asked, "Baffa, is it true she got married?"
Baffa sighed, deeply pitying Saheer, and held his hand, saying, "Come, let's go inside."
Slowly he stood up, feeling his heart pounding as if it were about to burst from his chest, dizziness washing over him as though he might fall on his face. Baffa held his hand, then turned to Mama and the others, saying, "Nobody should follow us," looking at them before leading him inside.
Mama watched them go, then laughed and said, "I told you so. As long as I am alive, I swear he will never marry that greedy girl. We don't even know her true origins, so why mix our bloodline with hers? Only if I am no longer alive, I swear." Adda said nothing, her heart consumed with intense sorrow and empathy for Saheer. Hanan simply sided with Mama as they all went inside.
