ABOUT THIS BOOK

Description

Jidda and her friends were startled by a loud commotion. Turning, they saw Dalhat dragging Hudah into his wing of the house. Hudah struggled, but his grip was firm. She cried, calling for help, but Dalhat carried her inside, ignoring her pleas. Sumayya burst into laughter, while Jidda scolded her for lacking compassion. They both eventually returned to their room, leaving Radiya in the living room, visibly upset.

Radiya's Jealousy

Radiya, the pampered niece of Ummi and daughter of a wealthy man, was known for her stubbornness. She fancied Dalhat and couldn’t accept his marriage to Hudah. She preferred him with Hudah, her friend, rather than Jidda. When Jidda tried to turn off the TV, Radiya lashed out at her, claiming everything was hers, including Dalhat. Jidda, exhausted, left her alone and went to the kitchen.

Hudah's Escape

Meanwhile, Dalhat had locked Hudah in his room. When he went to the bathroom, she escaped using a key hidden atop the wardrobe. She ran to Jidda's side of the house. Jidda saw her coming and quickly let her in, locking the door just as Dalhat arrived. He tried calling Ummi, but she didn't answer.

Tension Builds

In the kitchen, Jidda denied involvement. At the door, they encountered Radiya, eavesdropping. Hudah and Radiya exchanged insults, and Radiya threatened to report everything to Ummi. Ignoring her, Jidda and Hudah lay down in the living room. Later, Dalhat fumed in his room, plotting revenge. Exhausted, he eventually slept. Ummi, unaware of the situation, missed Dalhat's call.

Morning Confrontation

The next morning, Hudah awoke early. Jidda, tired, woke up sluggishly and performed her prayers. Hudah, worried Dalhat would embarrass her, decided to sneak back into her assigned room. She encountered no one and returned safely.

Dalhat went to Ummi, complaining Hudah didn’t sleep in his wing. Radiya seized the opportunity to accuse Jidda of helping Hudah escape. Ummi, furious, slapped Jidda, who cried and insisted she was innocent. Hudah confessed, taking responsibility and defending Jidda.

Hudah Stands Up

Once Ummi and Dalhat left, Hudah confronted Radiya, demanding she stay out of her marriage. Radiya mocked her, leading to another argument. Jidda stepped in and slapped Radiya just as Dalhat arrived. He assumed Hudah was at fault and beat her. Radiya smirked in victory.

A Tense Breakfast

Later, Dalhat asked Hudah to prepare tea. She complied silently, her eyes swollen from tears. Despite the tension, she obeyed him. He commented on her distance, accusing her of pretending. She quietly ate and cleaned up afterward.

When she returned, Dalhat questioned her presence in the living room. She left to tidy his room, sighing as she did. But Dalhat followed her, accused her of attitude, and began harassing her. Despite her resistance, he overpowered her and assaulted her, leaving her broken.

More Trouble

Rufaida, another troublemaker, entered without knocking, followed by Sumayya. They saw Hudah in distress but mocked her. Sumayya tried to lighten the mood, but Hudah ignored her. Rufaida insulted her, claiming Dalhat belonged to her.

In the living room, Hudah shared her ordeal. Sumayya advised patience and resilience. Jidda agreed. Though Hudah felt unwanted, they encouraged her to endure, warning that rebellion would only bring more pain.
