ABOUT THIS BOOK
Description
He was slowly descending the stairs of the aircraft that had landed on the tarmac of Sultan Abubakar III International Airport in the city of Sokoto. He was dressed in a fine and expensive traditional jallabiya, and on his head was a cap popularly known as tab’ani kasha hadisi. At first glance, you could tell that rest and comfort showed clearly all over him. When he had only two steps left before reaching the ground and finally stepped down, he lifted his head and let his eyes take in the scene.
A smile escaped his face when he saw his entire family standing there, all smiling softly at him. With just one look at them, you could tell they were filled with deep happiness that came straight from their hearts. His eyes then fell on His Royal Highness. The moment he completely stepped down, he headed toward him with joy written all over his face.
He went all the way down to the ground in respect and began greeting him, while the elder bent down, lifted him up, and embraced him tightly. He held him for more than a minute before lifting him again and extending his hand for a handshake. Then, with dignity and the full aura of authority that comes with ruling the vast land of Nigeria in his position as the Sultan of Muslims, he said:
“Assalamu Alaikum, Ali Abbas, we welcome you.”
He smiled at his father and replied,
“Ameen, wa Alaikassalam, Abi. I am deeply grateful for this kindness.”
Their hands were still clasped when his father embraced him once more, then released him and gestured for him to go and greet the rest of the people.
