ABOUT THIS BOOK
Description
The sound of rain beat against the window of the room, as if it wanted to enter just to say to her, "I feel your pain."
The room was not large, but it was filled with tranquility. The window was small, but cleanliness and the scent of lavender filled everywhere.
A plain white bed sheet was spread out, a long green bonnet on the side, and her phone beside the pillow – with the glow of the screen displaying his name: Best Choice "Still Online..."
Beside the mirror on the wall, she was sitting –
A 21-year-old, but her eyes held the secrets of fifteen years gone by.
She was a black beauty – not very fair, but with a glowing complexion.
Her lips were like written verses – thin and sweetly dark, as if drawn.
Her eyes were large, wide, full of questions and secrets.
Her hair was long, though she usually tied it up in a bun or wrapped it in a cloth with soft floral prints.
“Why am I the one still waiting?” she whispered softly, as if asking the window, or perhaps her own heart.
Her name was Ammatullah, not just because it was a beautiful name, but because of its meaning:
one who gives her whole heart when she loves.
She loved him deeply – the young man her heart had chosen.
And now, in the month she was born, the month the world was celebrating her, she felt everything fall silent, yet he hadn't even spoken to her despite knowing how important this day was to her.
A heavy silence, a silence difficult to explain.
She wiped a few stubborn tears that escaped her eyes,
but her chest… it was a battlefield.
A war between silence and screams.
Suddenly, her body gave in —
her knees curled to her chest as she collapsed on the bed,
She covered her mouth with both hands, screaming as though she were being stabbed with a knife and bleeding profusely...
Ammatullah burst into tears.
Not the soft sobs of a broken girl…
But the deep, painful cries of someone who had lost her future —
because to her, Nashwan was everything.
“Why…? Why me?” she whispered, through heavy, deeply painful sobs.
“How can it be that I am the one who truly loves,
but he’s the one who moved on so fast?”
“I’ve lost everything…” she uttered softly, as if speaking to the breath of her heart.
“He was my first choice, and he is the only one I love…”
She placed her hand on her chest as if trying to push her breath back inside.
Her heart was wrenching with an invisible pain, one that could only be felt.
“He was supposed to remember me today…” she said, tears rolling down.
“…but today is the day he chose to forget me.”
