ABOUT THIS BOOK

Description

She was coming down the stairs with a regal, confident stride, dressed in an Atamfa Super Wax wrapper and blouse. A large lafaya covered her entire body up to her head, while the gold jewelry adorning her neck and wrists glistened brightly. A single glance was enough to tell she was of pure Arab descent—a tall woman whose wealth and comfortable lifestyle had given her a full, glowing figure. She had an oval face with a long, slender nose, eyelashes so long and full they looked like extensions, a small delicate mouth, and hair that reached all the way down to her lower back.

This was HAJIYA SUHAIMA—a stunning, formidable woman who captivated everyone around her. Though she was at least 50 years old, you would never guess her age; looking at her, you could still see her youthful charm, as her body and timeless beauty had lost none of their elegance.

She continued her descent in a pair of stylish, well-crafted flat shoes, stepping into a massive living room lined with exquisite, magnificent gold-colored royal armchairs. A giant plasma TV covered half the wall, rendering images so vivid it felt like watching the events live in person. The entire room was immaculately arranged, filled with the rich, soothing aroma of burning turaren wuta incense.

She settled onto one of the armchairs, leaning back comfortably as she checked the large wall clock mounted on the western side of the room, which occupied half the wall itself. Just as it struck 9:00 PM, she clicked her tongue, sat up with a trace of fatigue, and called out sharply, "Karime..."

From another section of the house, a voice quickly replied, "Yes, Hajiya!" before the woman named Karime appeared in the living room.

Trembling slightly with deference, the elderly woman knelt before her, saying, "Good evening, Hajiya."

Hajiya Suhaima scrunched her face slightly and said in her Hausa, heavily accented with Arabic, "Go into my bedroom and bring me my phone," flicking her hand dismissively.

"Right away, Hajiya," Karime replied hurriedly, heading up the stairs.

A short moment later, Karime returned holding a sleek, beautiful iPhone 7+. She knelt respectfully and handed it over, saying, "Here it is, Hajiya."

Hajiya Suhaima took her time before reaching out to take it. She unlocked the screen, revealing a wallpaper photo. Looking closely, it showed her warmly embracing a young man, both of them sharing a smile.
