ABOUT THIS BOOK

Description

She was hurrying, clutching her child in her arms, inside the forest that contained nothing except a massive construction site of an old, major building-materials manufacturing company belonging to the famous billionaire, ADMR Rotarian Escapedes Sarkodie, which now lay in ruin as if its history had been wiped away and forgotten.

She entered the abandoned shell of the company together with her son. Both were beautiful—the kind of appearance people refer to as "pure charity"—but due to the hardship of poverty and the deep grime caked onto their bodies, only their intensely black hair and the faint remaining lightness of their skin were visible, letting you know they were not originally poor, but that fate had brought them to this wilderness, situated more than a thirty-day walk on foot from the proper town.

She had not forgotten this at all, for two years ago, she too had arrived here on foot specifically to fulfill her husband's command and to protect their only remaining precious child in the world.

They sat inside a small makeshift shelter within the abandoned company structure, which had been left unfinished for over forty years. Signs of age and collapse were evident all over the building, even though it was constructed entirely of solid, high-quality cement.

Its sheer size did not frighten them at all, even though the building was about five stories high; they simply lived their lives inside it because they had nowhere else to go or stay if not here.

There were traveling merchants, poor village hunters passing through, and sand miners who collected sand to sell. Thus, their abandoned ruin served as a shelter for everyone, split into various sections, so they were not alone—they shared the space with people who did not know what to do with their lives, or what would happen if the company owner ever asked them to leave.

The center of the place was a vast open space where nothing passed, except for a terrifying double-thunderclap that erupted with intense, two-pronged lightning that tore through the sky and struck down toward the earth, burning, shattering, or splitting in two any creature that crossed its path.
