ABOUT THIS BOOK
Description
As soon as they landed in Saudi Arabia, their escort, along with some palace attendants, came to pick them up at the airport. From the moment they stepped off the plane, journalists kept taking their pictures, attempting to interview Sheikh Sudais regarding what they called a "secret marriage." However, he absolutely refused to give them the chance. He had already known that the media would inevitably find out about his arrival, which was why he had instructed Maisoon to wear a niqab—he did not want his beloved to be exposed to the world. The journalists tried every possible way to get an interview with him, but their efforts were in vain. He managed to make his way to the car with great difficulty after ushering his wife inside. Prince Junaid and the others climbed in as well; Junaid was simply bursting with excitement to get home so Princess Saudat could see who Yah Sheikh’s wife was, just to see how she would react! 😜 With that, the convoy sped off along the asphalt road, heading straight to the palace, while Aunty Meenah, who was following closely behind them, just watched the wonders of God unfold.
The moment their vehicles came to a halt, the escorts quickly rushed over to open the doors for them. They all stepped out, with Sheikh Sudais holding his bride by the hand, and they walked directly into the house toward Princess Zaitun's quarters. She was sitting alone in the parlor when her attendants announced their arrival and they walked in. Overjoyed, Princess Zaitun stood up, exclaiming, "Welcome, welcome to my wonderful daughter-in-law! Welcome to the bride of my boy, Sheikh Sudais! Welcome, blessed one!" She approached and pulled Maisoon into a warm embrace. Everyone smiled, but no one said a word except for her youngest son, Prince Junaid. He chimed in, "Ammi, out of all of us here, you only have eyes for this bride? The one who hasn't even spoken to your youngest son yet, and now she's trying to steal you away from me!" he said, pouting his lips. This brought a smile to everyone's face. Sheikh Sudais, for his part, didn't say anything; he just found a place to sit before asking, "Ammi, hope we find you well?" "Very well, Sheikh. How is Hajiya Rumaah?" He bit his lower lip slightly before replying, "She is doing well, Ammi. She asked me to extend her regards to you, even though I wasn't formally given a message," he said, looking as though he wasn't the one speaking.
Princess Zaitun smiled and said, "Well, it is only proper for you to act as a messenger for my daughter, so even if you delivered a message that wasn't explicitly given, you've done no wrong." "Hmm, Ammi, I should go and rest now. I want to go to the Haram shortly." "Well, go ahead then. Are you leaving my daughter here with me? Surely you should take her to your own quarters first." "No, Ammi, please have someone take her there. I see you haven't even had a proper look at her yet," he concluded, just as he walked out of the parlor door, with Prince Basam following behind carrying his bag. Princess Zaitun smiled and said, "My daughter, you see how this husband of yours is? Humm, never mind him. Eat something and rest, and then I will escort you myself." With her head bowed and a smile on her face, Maisoon replied, "Alright, Ammi," and said nothing further.
Meanwhile, Prince Junaid pulled out his phone and began typing, while Princess Zaitun stood up to personally fetch some refreshments for Maisoon. Seeing that Princess Zaitun had left the room, Junaid leaned in closer and whispered softly, "Please, Aunty Princess, Yah Sheikh’s wife, take off the niqab now. We are inside the house, and you see Ammi really wants to see her daughter-in-law but just couldn't ask you to remove it. Please, Mrs. Sheikh Sudais," he said in a whispering tone. She gently pulled aside the niqab, revealing her beautiful face, and fixed her large, prominent eyes on Junaid—who was chattering away—giving him a playful glare. He immediately put his hand over his head and joked, "Oh dear, Aunty Princess, please don't give me that kind of look, for Allah's sake, so you don't scare Ammi's boy!" She didn't say anything to him; she just listened to his playful banter, as Junaid's personality strongly reminded her of her own sweetheart, Aisha.
Princess Zaitun returned, accompanied by some attendants carrying large trays loaded with food. With a warm expression, she said, "My daughter, come and eat something, okay?" As she spoke, she looked up at where Maisoon was sitting. Maisoon had also looked up to respond, and their eyes locked, causing Maisoon to quickly cast her gaze downward. Princess Zaitun’s eyes widened in absolute shock and immediate joy. She exclaimed, "Oh, Masha Allah! My child, so you are actually my daughter-in-law? Oh, Masha Allah, Masha Allah, Alhamdulillah! No wonder I loved you from the very first moment I saw you; it turns out you were meant to be my Sheikh Sudais's wife! Masha Allah, truly this brings me so much joy. This is indeed the work of Allah! 🤔 Junaid, why didn't you give me the good news even over the phone, that what we have been dreaming of has actually happened?" she said, hugging Maisoon tightly once again, overcome with happiness and delight at seeing that she was indeed Sheikh Sudais's wife. Junaid burst out laughing, holding his stomach, before slowing down to say, "By Allah, Ammi, I just wanted to see how you would react when you saw her, which is why I refused to tell you. And that's also why I pestered her to take off the niqab just now, so you could see her right in front of me instead of just hearing about it later!" he concluded, dissolving into laughter again. Princess Zaitun simply smiled and said, "May Allah guide you, Junaid. Look at how you've made me act, you shameless boy!" He just stood up, still laughing, and said, "Amen, amen, my lovely mom," as he walked out of her quarters toward his own, though he wondered why he hadn't seen the rest of the household in the general parlor before entering Princess Zaitun's apartment.
