ABOUT THIS BOOK
Description
Slowly, Daddy Imran, who was also staring at Uncle Tasi’u in deep shock—since everything Mammah had said was in their hearing—kept watching. Not long after, Nimrah and the others arrived. What happened was that they had entered first, while Nimrah and her group came in through Ma’aruff’s section via the back door. So they had no idea the others were already in the house.
His eyes, which had also widened in surprise, shifted away from Uncle Tasi’u and turned toward Dada. He knew exactly who his “lion” was, so he let out a quiet breath, placed his hand on Dada’s shoulder, and gently patted him in a calming manner. Slowly, Dada turned and fixed his gaze on him, then closed his eyes briefly before opening them again.
Without saying a word to anyone, just as Uncle Tasi’u—whose body was trembling—hurried forward, intending to approach him, his lips moving as if to speak, Dada simply lifted Nimrah, who had fainted, and walked off with her.
Even Mammah, who knew her son’s nature well, and even Gwaggo Khadijah couldn’t help but widen their eyes in shock. Dada had completely humiliated Uncle Tasi’u in a bold and undeniable way. Imran lowered his head, struggling hard to suppress a smile that almost escaped him. Then he raised his head slightly again to watch Dada as he ascended the staircase with a striking, heroic presence. You would think he wasn’t even carrying a person—there was no sign he felt her weight, even though she was unconscious.
At that same moment, Nabeeha quickly held her aching head, then tried to steady herself by grabbing Rukayya, who was beside her. Rukayya turned swiftly, as did everyone else in the living room, only now realizing her presence. It turned out she had heard everything too. Amima and the others had seen Dada’s car arrive from the balcony of their section, and Rayhana had called her to inform her. She rushed out immediately, but by the time she came out, they had almost reached Mammah’s section.
She arrived just as everything unfolded but stopped short when she sensed something was wrong, especially seeing Mammah crying. Then she heard the explanation just like everyone else. Her heart nearly shattered—although she already knew about this, it felt as though Mammah was reopening old wounds, reminding her of Haysam, Nimrah’s husband, and everything connected to their past.
Just as she lifted her head to look at Dada, who was only a short distance away, she suddenly saw him rushing forward with intense force, colliding with the person slightly ahead of her. She stumbled into him, and only then did she notice Nimrah’s face. Instantly, her breath caught, everything around her froze. She didn’t fully regain herself until now—and even now, she was still shaken—after seeing what Dada had done, carrying a young girl in his arms before everyone and heading upstairs to his room, as everyone already knew.
At that exact time, by the wisdom of the Almighty, another event shook the entire country and its people—including even hidden hypocrites.
A major and astonishing announcement was released from the President’s office regarding the names of those appointed to high-ranking positions in the government.
Eight senior ministers were announced, along with the Chief Secretary. Then came the National Security Advisor (NSA) and the Chief of Staff.
It wasn’t the positions themselves that shocked the nation—it was the names of the individuals appointed to the last two roles:
Mr. Haysam Abdul-Rasheed Shehu Kobi was appointed as the Chief of Staff to the President, and Mr. Imran Abbas was appointed as the National Security Advisor (NSA).
Boom!
This was like a massive explosion shaking the nation. The President had already signed the approval the previous day at his residence, formally announcing it at exactly 4:00 p.m. today before returning home. And since it was Friday, the country was heading straight into the weekend.
This was the moment of triumph—like a powerful chant rising in celebration:
“Scatter everything like the grandson of Tafida! Long live, long reign! Now the real men of action have arrived! Sixty fulfilled in greatness!”
Aba Nasiru, the royal praise singer, burst into song for President Yusuf Shu’aibu Tafida, echoing a style worthy of a king:
“Give us the general’s drum above! Let those who want to run, run—only Baba Tafida remains! This year, the general stands above all!”
