ABOUT THIS BOOK

Description

All praise and gratitude belong to Allah, Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. May peace and blessings be upon our leader, the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.).
Just as I have started this book in good health, I pray to Allah that I finish it in good health. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
The night had grown deep, and nothing could be heard except the sounds of birds and ducks in the small village. The NEPA electricity light lit up everywhere 💡💡, and a delightful, pleasant breeze was blowing.
The Next Morning
"Hey, Nihal! Get up and fetch water for me, you stubborn girl! Is it because your father backs you up that you behave so disrespectfully whenever you feel like it??"
The one called Nihal sprang up instantly, rubbing her eyes. Larai glared at her. "Bastard who looks like a witch. Your mother gave birth to misery for us and then ran away."
She got up and went out to fetch the water. As she walked, she pondered over her life. Even last night, she hadn't gone to sleep until around 1:00 AM. What kind of life was this???
In this state of mind, she reached the stream. After fetching the water, she returned, did the dishes, and swept the compound. By then, Baba Larai had finished putting the fura da nono (millet dough and milk) into a calabash for her to go out and hawk! Without a shred of pity, she placed the calabash on her head—a load far too heavy for her!
She walked along, crying, until she reached the market area. If practice made perfect, she should have been used to it by now, but this was how she walked every single day without having eaten breakfast. Some days, when she returned, Baba Larai would refuse to give her lunch, claiming the food was finished. 😢🤨 Only when she went to Jummai's house would she get something to eat, or she would gather leftover dried tuwo (kanzo) to eat, without any oil or Maggi cube. Since it wasn't cooked food anyway, how could one even think of oil or Maggi?
O Allah, protect us from wicked stepmothers. Ameen. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
"Ishan, are you awake??"
"Mom, please let me be, I will get up. I just don't feel well, that's why."
"Oh my goodness, what is wrong with you, my son? Why didn't you tell me? Let me call the doctor to come and check on you!!!"
Seeing how worried his mother had become, he said, "Calm down, my Mom. It's nothing serious, just my head hurting a bit. Don't worry, I've already taken some medicine, you hear me, my first love? ❤️"
"Yes, but even so, it's better to be checked. I know you don't like taking medicine."
"I swear I took it, Mom. I'm telling you the truth, please believe me."
"Okay, I hear you. Get up so we can go have breakfast. 🥞"
"Alright, Mom. Let me take a quick shower before I come out, I'll feel much better, you hear, MOMMY?"
"Okay, my son. See you soon!"
She walked out, and he watched her leave. Whenever he was unwell, even with a minor ailment, his mother would panic!! Could it be because he was the only child Allah had blessed them with??
After showering, he came out to have breakfast 🥞 with his MOMMY. ❤️❤️🥰
