ABOUT THIS BOOK

Description

Late at night, in another harsh and difficult situation, while thousands of people were finally resting after long hours of daily struggle—whether outside or at home—tonight was different for Maryam. She did not care about the clock.
At the moment she woke her husband, they were arguing fiercely in the middle of the night. This was after she had gone through his phone and found immoral videos. If jealousy were a disease, then she could confidently say it was her only illness—one that consumed her, stripped her dignity, and made her capable of treating a man with utter disrespect, attacking him without restraint.
“Maryam, if you ever again call me a adulterer in your marriage house, I swear to you I just bought this phone today—I didn’t sit down to go through it…”
In extreme anger, she cut him off:
“Adulterer! So what if you divorce me? I’m not hearing the word divorce from you for the first time, and it doesn’t bother me. Ten husbands are not equal to one father!”
He replied:
“Truly, whoever refuses to listen will eventually hear the harsh consequences. Nothing was hidden from me before I married you—I was told you cannot stay in marriage and will never be able to. But fate and the pregnancy in your womb made me ignore those warnings.”
She said:
“Don’t blame destiny for your wrongdoing. Just admit you married me out of selfish desire, despite how much your mother hated me.”
He said:
“Maryam! Go ahead, I divorce you once.”
She replied sharply:
“Are you confirming it or adding another divorce to the one already said? You know that since you called me an adulterer and spoke of divorce before, I did not stop repeating it. The first divorce is valid, and now you have said another one—that makes two. Only one is left. Even if you take me back, I won’t return. A donkey repeats lessons, not me!”
In anger he shouted:
“What kind of curse would make me even take you back? Get out of my house before I do something you’ll regret!”
She laughed sarcastically:
“Hehehe! But you didn’t marry me at 3 a.m., and at the wedding they didn’t tell me you would send me back to my parents at 3 a.m.”
He yelled:
“Get out of my house before I lose control and something terrible happens!”
She replied calmly:
“If you lose control, please don’t just kill me—let it be complete. By Allah, unless my mother Hansatu rises from the grave, no one can force me to leave this house today.”
Nasiru angrily hissed, left the room, and went to lie down on the long sofa in the living room.
In his heart, he felt she had disgraced him despite the respect he had given her while she was pregnant. He felt like beating her badly, but held himself back. He regretted marrying Maryam, even though deep down he had always suspected she had a difficult character. Only after living with her did he fully realize the extent of her stubbornness and disrespect.
That night, all his patience finally ran out.
