ABOUT THIS BOOK
Description
She was a young woman who couldn't be more than twenty-five to twenty-seven years old, a dark-complexioned beauty. She was dressed in a golden lace blouse and wrapper, with a large veil draped from her head. With calm and measured steps, she headed toward her car parked in their company's parking lot.
She heard the voice of Barrister Zee calling out to her. Barrister Zee was the wife of Engineer Jabir, the owner of the company. Turning around with a face full of smiles, she approached Zee, and they gave each other a friendly high-five in a playful manner typical of close friends. Zee looked at her and said:
"Deeja, the big woman! I’ve come to this company four times without finding you, but today God helped me."
Deeja smiled and then said, "Well, Zee, what would I stay behind to do after finishing my work? I have to keep heading home early—you know how troublesome my husband can be."
"That’s very true, Deeja. Life just requires patience," Zee replied.
"Hmm! That's true. Let me head home now, until we meet again," Deeja said, attempting to open her car.
"Okay! Give my regards to everyone at home," Zee said, before turning to walk inside the company.

She heard Engineer Khalees's voice—it seemed he was back. She listened briefly, and it sounded like he was on a phone call, so she didn't rush to go out. She continued what she was doing, hearing him enter his room.
She didn't come out until she was fully dressed in an orange lace blouse and skirt. She looked very beautiful, her head bare of a scarf except for her abundant hair, which was tied up with a ribbon matching the color of her outfit. She headed straight to Khalees's room.
Entering with a greeting, she saw him sitting on the edge of the bed browsing his phone. He answered without looking at her. Unbothered, she sat down and said, "Welcome back."
Only after taking his time did he reply, "Alright."
She didn't take it to heart, as she was already used to it if habit were anything to go by. She said, "I've prepared your bathwater."
"I've heard," he answered her, his eyes still fixed on his phone.
She added, "Should I take your food to the dining table or bring it to you here?"
This time he looked up at her, but with a contemptuous glare, and said, "Whichever way you see fit. Look, lady, your chatter is enough already."
She didn't get angry, being accustomed to his nature, and said, "I'm sorry." Without waiting for his reply, she walked outside.
Only then did Khalees follow the path she took with his gaze for a few seconds, like someone lost in thought, to...
