Description
“Ya’aqub! Ya’aqub, wake up!! The palace is in trouble, we are in disaster and calamity!”
The one called Ya’aqub quickly raised his head and looked at the speaker. In alarm, he said, “What is happening, Zayyad?”
“Prince Sahal is nowhere to be found. It is strongly suspected that he was kidnapped and taken out of this palace. King Mu’iz and Queen Amna have long since come out to the front of the palace. Everyone is in a state of panic.”
Ya’aqub fell silent, staring at Zayyad in shock. Prince Sahal had been kidnapped! The heir to the throne of the Kaizur Kingdom. What kind of terrible trial had befallen them like this? For he knew very well this was no small matter, because King Mu’iz was not a forgiving man.
With his body trembling badly, Ya’aqub looked at Zayyad and said, “Then where are Umayr and Urwa, the ones assigned to watch over him?”
“Umayr has fled, but Urwa has been captured. Still, he keeps swearing that neither he nor Umayr is guilty, and that they do not know how it happened. But the king ordered that he and the rest of his boys be taken away and investigated.”
Ya’aqub said nothing more. He stood up, adjusting his clothes, and headed for the way out of their room, while Zayyad followed behind him, shivering.
At the front of the palace, he found a crowd gathered there. Calmly, he moved through the people with his head lowered. As he knew the custom of the kingdom, when the King was speaking, no one was allowed to look at him.
The King’s announcement deeply frightened the people. King Mu’iz turned and went back into his palace without listening to anyone’s excuse, and Princess Amna, who was with him, followed behind him.
With shaken bodies, everyone began to leave little by little on the orders of the King’s chief servant, who himself immediately turned and left the place. The people began to disperse in whispers, each one wondering why the son of King Mu’iz had been kidnapped, and how it had been done despite the tight security in the palace.
Ya’aqub too went back toward their quarters, his heart filled with fear like everyone else, and with intense shock at whoever had carried out such a cruel act in the middle of that deep night.

Their horses raced at full speed through vast forests filled with terrifying things and extreme darkness. They were three in number, all dressed in black, even their faces covered with black veils. One of them was carrying a small sack that seemed to contain something fairly large.
It was almost dawn when they arrived at the Kingdom of Jasus. The one in front, the same one carrying the sack, was the first to pull his horse’s reins and stop, which made the others stop as well.
He turned and looked at them. In his firm voice, like that of a seasoned warrior, he began to speak:
“At any moment now, dawn may break, and that means the people of Jasus town will be coming out for prayer. And if we enter carrying this thing, I am certain our secret may be exposed. You know how the Kingdom of Kaizur is, but the Kingdom of Jasus is even worse than us.
“They are ruthless. So we will just throw him here. There are vicious wild animals around; in a very short time, they will finish him off. So what do you say?”
The first one said, “Ah! That is more than enough. No problem, let us do it.”
Without argument, they threw down the sack. Their leader looked at it and smiled, then said, “Well then, Heir… shall I say, until we meet again?”
He whipped his horse’s reins, and the others did the same, and they changed direction.
