ABOUT THIS BOOK
Description
First — Life does not go the way we want; it goes the way Allah wants.
Second — Everything that happens, even if it is painful, surely has some good in it if one is patient and endures.
Third — A person should remain patient and thankful to Allah for whatever He has decreed for him. Whenever destiny befalls you, be patient, persevere, and keep striving. Never allow yourself to lose hope, because that too is part of your test. Many people face great challenges in life: some suffer from illness, some from not being married, and some of us are struggling with severe poverty. So a servant of Allah should not see the many hardships surrounding him and think the world has forgotten him. The truth is that you are not alone. Every living person in this world is certainly facing some kind of challenge, though some people’s trials are more severe than others. Allah tests His servants in different ways to see who will be patient and who will continue to pray.
Destiny does not mean you should sit without making effort. No. Make your effort, seek knowledge, seek provision, seek marriage, but the final result is in Allah’s hands. That is why our elders tell us not to let life teach us bitterness. If destiny closes one door, it opens another one that our tears may prevent us from seeing.
Do not let seeing someone else succeed make you throw away the opportunities you have. Whatever Allah has destined for you is surely yours, and your success will never pass you by. Seek your parents’ blessings, and stay far away from envy, no matter how small it may seem. Also, never allow yourself to invite sorrow into your life. Do not carry the burden someone else places on you, and do not let another person’s words trouble you. Never allow grief, sadness, and worry to settle in your heart like a guest that has found a permanent place to stay.
Why should you carry the weight of someone else’s words? Why should you take what happened to you and turn it into a wound in your heart?
If you are ill, or facing challenges and threats, remember one thing: Allah does not test His servants in order to destroy them, but rather to forgive them, elevate them, and teach them strength and perseverance, just like the life of Ameenerh Shehu Usman.
Indeed, there are lessons in life that you can never learn in comfort and happiness until you go through hardship. So why should you let worry begin to consume your heart when it cannot solve anything? Worry does not bring solutions; it only increases the heaviness of the heart. Free your heart and leave everything in Allah’s hands, and remain steadfast in prayer. Allah is with you more than you imagine.
In this day and age, when destiny happens to you, we call it destiny. But when it happens to someone else, we often call it foolishness or a mistake. In truth, anywhere in the world, no human being has a duplicate; not everyone can understand the true reality of what destiny means in another person’s life. The life you see outwardly is not the full life of the heart. From the day the heart was created in the body, Allah gave man the power to manage his thoughts. Because of that, not everyone can understand another person’s sadness or happiness in any part of our lives.
Therefore, if you see someone living through difficulties, know that you may not truly understand what they are going through. If you cannot help them out of their condition, and you cannot even include them in your prayers, then the best thing is to leave them with their dignity, without criticizing their life or their situation.
And here is the advice I will give you: avoid keeping company with people who complain too much, because without you realizing it, they weaken your heart and may prevent your progress. Dealing with them can turn your life into a fire, because they always focus on the negative side of life, spreading worry and discouragement.
But if you draw close to people who are grateful and who accept destiny, you will see your life become filled with peace and happiness. People with good hearts strengthen you, make you smile, and bring joy into your life. They also show you that life still has value even when challenges seem overwhelming. Those people are the true companions of the journey, because they see goodness in every condition you are in, and they encourage you to keep pursuing success with perseverance.
These are the kinds of people life has given us the choice to walk with. If you choose people who are always crying and complaining, you will suffer. If you choose grateful people, you will find peace and success. So let us draw close to those who want our happiness and success, because they are the ones who will help us until the day we build a better future.
If you want, I can also make it sound more natural and polished in formal English or turn it into a motivational write-up.
