ABOUT THIS BOOK
Description
Yarima Sameer and the Hidden Life of Danejo
Yarima Sameer, as always, had the habit of undressing right from the parlor before reaching his bedroom. However, despite his comfort at home, one thing remained sacred: he never removed his boxers in the bedroom. He only did that while bathing. A deeply modest man, Sameer wouldn’t dare expose his nakedness to anyone, not even under duress. Tired and worn, he stepped into the bathroom immediately upon entering his room.
The Plight of Danejo
Since the day Innawuro beat her, Danejo had been subjected to harsh tasks beyond her strength. She barely ate and was kept up late each night, yet never again was she beaten. Oddly, Danejo managed the grueling work swiftly, work that would usually take hours for even the strongest women.
On a certain day, returning from delivering milk to Malam Baffa’s son, Danejo encountered local boys she had once caught stealing farm produce. They cornered her in a secluded spot. Sani, one of them, threatened her: "If you ever report us, we’ll break your bones."
Fearless, Danejo challenged them, her eyes blazing with courage. Just then, one of the boys grabbed her while the others held her down. As they attempted to strip her, a violent whirlwind erupted, flinging them into rocks.
When they came to, they found Danejo sitting calmly on a golden throne made of giant snakes, surrounded by mythical creatures. Her beauty was overpowering, almost divine. She scolded them, warning, "This is your final warning. Harm another soul in this village, and I will personally judge you."
Masarautar Mahar
Elsewhere in the palace, a servant named Laraba burst into Fulani Abu's chamber with gossip. "Yarima Sameer has returned to the palace today," she announced. Fulani Abu calmly replied, "I already know." She scolded Laraba for her constant gossip but handed her a small charm.
Later, Fulani Abu muttered to herself, "This palace is full of rumors and schemes. Let her use the charm however she likes."
The Next Morning
Dressed in their finest, Yarima Sameer and his brothers Ameer and Anwar descended the stairs. Sameer wore pristine white with blue accents, his cap matching his look, enhancing his naturally striking appearance. As they reached the kitchen, they found Mammi busy preparing traditional dishes herself, as she disliked the servants handling such things. Sameer greeted her warmly with a hug and a kiss on the forehead.
Ameer, slightly ahead, called back, "Ready, Sameer?"
