The Hidden Roots of Hatred
Before understanding the present crisis, one must go back to the beginning — to the tangled roots of jealousy, obsession, and silent revenge.
Didy and Mama (Kuburah’s mother) were cousins — not distant relatives, but closely connected by blood. They grew up together almost like sisters. When Mama got married to Dady, Ummi was also married into the same household around that time. Both women entered the family as young brides and were welcomed by the senior wife of the house.
At that time, Didy was still young — around nine years old. But even at that age, she was unusually bold. She had no shyness and frequently visited Mama’s house. Over time, she became almost like a younger sister to Mama. Mama trusted her completely. She allowed her to move freely around the house, to help with chores, and later to help care for the children.
Soon, both Mama and Ummi became pregnant around the same period. They each gave birth to baby boys only two weeks apart. Ummi gave birth to Sultan — a very handsome child who strongly resembled her. Mama gave birth to Sabeer — also very handsome, resembling Dady.
The boys grew up almost like twins. Wherever Sabeer was, Sultan was there. They ate together, played together, and were raised together. The family treated them equally.
During this time, Didy was growing older. Her visits to Mama’s house became more frequent. She helped take care of Sabeer and often helped with the children’s baths and daily care. But gradually, her attention began to shift. Her focus was no longer innocent.
What no one realized was that something unhealthy had started forming inside her heart — a strange attachment, especially toward Sultan.
At first, it appeared harmless. But as the children grew older, Sultan began telling his mother certain things that made Ummi uncomfortable. Though she was disturbed, she chose silence to avoid family scandal. Instead, she gently removed opportunities for Didy to be alone with the boys.
But obsession does not disappear so easily.
Didy found other ways to remain close. Her behavior became increasingly inappropriate and secretive. While the children remained unaware of the danger, something dark was quietly growing.
Years passed. The boys reached adolescence. One night, fate exposed everything.
Ummi suddenly felt restless in her bedroom. A strange unease filled her chest. Without understanding why, she walked toward Mama’s section of the house and then toward the boys’ room.
What she saw shattered her completely.
Didy had crossed a line that could never be uncrossed.
Shock froze Ummi in place. Tears streamed down her face, but she could not speak. Shortly after, Mama entered and saw the same horrifying scene. Rage unlike anything she had ever felt consumed her.
Mama attacked Didy in fury — not just from anger, but from the fear that her son’s life and dignity had been threatened.
Dady rushed in after hearing the commotion. When the truth came out, silence fell heavily on him. The shame, the betrayal, the violation of trust — it was too much.
Ummi took her son and declared that Didy would never come near him again.
Mama swore that Didy would never step foot in that house again.
Dady ordered Didy to leave immediately.
That was the day Didy was expelled from the household.
The Birth of Revenge
But instead of remorse, something else was born inside Didy that night — vengeance.
She did not see herself as guilty. In her mind, she saw herself as rejected and humiliated.
She swore she would destroy them.
Her goal became clear:
Remove Mama from the house.
Replace her position.
Separate Ummi from Sultan.
Control Sultan’s life.
Hurt Dady by hurting Sabeer.
She wanted the power and access she had lost.
Obsession turned into strategy.
Eventually, she met a manipulative friend who introduced her to someone capable of dark spiritual influence. Through calculated steps, she began interfering with the peace of the household.
Soon, strange changes happened.
Dady suddenly divorced Mama — unexpectedly and without clear reason.
Only two months later, Didy returned — this time not as a visitor, but as Dady’s new wife.
Even Dady himself seemed unaware of how everything unfolded so quickly.
Ummi was deeply suspicious. She did not understand how this could happen, but she felt something unnatural had influenced events. From that day forward, she intensified her prayers and sought divine protection for her son.
Hajiya Inno, unaware of the full truth behind Didy’s earlier expulsion, was confused but angry. She could not understand why Dady would marry Didy after divorcing her cousin. That confusion turned into silent resentment.
When Didy noticed this hostility, she added Inno to her list of enemies.
From that moment on, Didy’s heart carried no love for anyone in that house.
Only ambition.
Only revenge.
The Present Crisis
Now, years later, the consequences of those buried secrets are beginning to surface again.
The emotional damage inflicted in childhood may have shaped Sultan into the complicated man he is today.
The tension in his marriage.
The mysterious struggles.
The strange behaviors.
The hidden trauma.
All of it traces back to that night.
And now, as new women enter his life — Kuburah, Mebo — the past refuses to stay buried.
Because some wounds do not disappear.
They wait.
And revenge, once planted, grows like a slow poison.
