ABOUT THIS BOOK

Description

A Mysterious Girl in the Coffee Shop

Two wealthy young men, Habeeb and Farhaan, sat on a plush two-seater in a luxurious coffee shop. Their presence radiated class—immaculate kaftans, expensive watches, and confidence. Yet, Farhaan looked impatient, repeatedly checking his designer wristwatch.

“Habeeb, what are we even doing here? I told you I have a meeting in two hours,” Farhaan grumbled.

“Relax,” Habeeb smiled. “She’ll show up soon.”

“She? Who?”

Before Habeeb could respond, a girl passed by them. Farhaan’s gaze followed hers after noticing Habeeb watching her intently.

She was striking—wearing a boyfriend jean that looked like a palazzo, a denim jacket over a white shirt, and a stylish vintage scarf tied fashionably on her head. Her side bag was chic, and her flat white shoes complemented her radiant skin. Not tall, not short. Slim, with a round face, pink lips, and big dreamy eyes. Her aura screamed effortless beauty.

“Wow,” Farhaan whispered, blinking.

“You see her?” Habeeb nudged him. “That’s the third time I’ve seen her here. And bro, you two look so much alike. She could be your sister—same face, same eyes. It’s weird.”

Farhaan couldn’t look away. There was something about her that gripped his soul. She laughed at something on her phone, and her laughter was like music to his ears.

Then her phone rang. She answered cheerfully, “Hello, dearest sister…” but soon, her smile faded. Her eyes welled with tears. Something had gone wrong. She grabbed her things and left hurriedly.

Instinctively, Farhaan stood up and followed her.

A Fiery Encounter

Just as she reached for the shop door, Farhaan caught her by the wrist. She turned, startled.

“What is it?” she snapped, her eyes fierce.

“I just—”

“Let me go! If you want to hold hands, go to a brothel. I'm not one of those girls,” she spat, yanking her hand away.

He stood frozen, taken aback. No girl had ever talked to him like that. Yet… he was mesmerized.

Habeeb joined him, placing a hand on his shoulder. “Let’s go. I’ll explain everything.”

Back at their luxurious mansion, Farhaan was lost in thought. Her anger didn’t hurt him—it intrigued him. For the first time, someone had challenged him, and he didn’t hate it. He wanted to see her again. He needed to.

Love at First Sight

Habeeb sat on the bed in Farhaan’s room as he emerged from the shower, now in a clean white jallabiya, spraying his expensive perfumes with a heavy heart.

“I’m sorry for wasting your time,” Habeeb began, “but I feel like that girl might be the missing link—the one person connected to your past, to those you’ve been searching for.”

Farhaan scoffed. “You think she is related to the people I’ve been hunting for years? She’s not even from Jos.”

“Maybe not. But something about her screams connection.”

“Well, whether she’s connected or not—I need to see her again,” Farhaan admitted. “I need to apologize. I disrespected her.”

Habeeb nodded. “Tomorrow, same place, same time.”

Farhaan agreed, canceling another business meeting just for this mission.

But the next day, they waited in vain. 9 AM to 3 PM, no sign of her.

“She’s not coming,” Habeeb said finally.

“Then we wait again tomorrow,” Farhaan insisted.

He returned home that day, distracted, unable to focus. His heart wouldn’t rest until he saw her again.

A Deeper Obsession

The following day, another meeting was canceled. Still, the girl didn’t show. The coffee shop remained void of her presence, and Farhaan’s hope began to dwindle.

Meanwhile, the girl—Asma’u—was dealing with her own chaotic world. Living in a house where she was constantly misunderstood and judged, her family called her names and compared her to her quiet, obedient siblings. The only one who understood her was her best friend, Rahma, a modest girl with a soft voice and firm principles.

Asma’u dressed boldly, preferring jeans over traditional wear. This made her stand out—for better or worse. Her family thought she was rebellious. Her stepsisters bullied her. Even when she was wrongfully accused of flirting with boys, she received no defense.

Then there was Suraj, the only boy who seemed to see her for who she truly was. He often picked her up from school, and despite warnings from her strict brother Usman, their connection grew.

But then the worst happened—her father found out and forbade her from continuing her education. He insisted on marrying her off instead. The decision crushed her.

One day, while walking back from school, she bumped into a soldier on a bike. Mud splashed on her dress, and when she shouted at him, he slapped her in public.

It was Farhaan’s cousin—Umar.

Later that week, Farhaan spotted her again at Gamji Park. She was with Suraj, laughing. Farhaan felt a stab of something… jealousy? Pain? He couldn’t tell. All he knew was that he needed to find her and fix what he had broken, even if she never forgave him.

He had met many girls, but none like her.

Not one who stirred both fire and longing.

He didn’t just want her name.

He wanted her truth.
