ABOUT THIS BOOK
Description
He opened the door to his office, which had "Dr. Musty" written on it, and walked in just as his phone started ringing—the flashing light blinking on and off since the phone was on silent. He walked past his desk where the phone was lying, quickly picked it up upon seeing "Mamie" on the screen, and placed it to his ear. In a calm, respectful, and composed voice, he said, "Mamie." From the other end, the voice of a dignified, mature, and very collected woman said, "Assalamu Alaykum, Mustafa. Look, Hamadi has a fever; his body is burning like fire, and he refuses to get up so we can come to your hospital. He won't tell me what's wrong with him, and honestly, I didn't even know he was sick until I felt how hot his body is." Mustafa calmly walked around and sat in his office chair, Mamie's words capturing his full attention. Without letting any panic show in his voice, he asked, "Is he able to speak?" Mamie, visibly anxious, replied, "He isn't even speaking to me, let alone you. Though, then again, he might talk to you." The doctor calmly asked, "What about Hameed?" Mamie said, "He left for work before 8:00, and he didn't mention to me that Hamadi was unwell; I am certain he didn't know either." Letting out a quiet sigh, he said calmly, "I am on my way. Dip a towel in water and use it to wipe down his body. Don't worry, Mamie, he will be fine." Mamie let out a sigh of relief that could be heard over the phone and said, "Alright, may God bring you safely. I'll be waiting," before hanging up.
