A Soft Pink Bedroom
It was a room decorated in baby pink and white. A cool breeze mixed with the fragrance of body perfumes filled the air, creating such a pleasant atmosphere that it felt as though the scents had just been sprayed.
She was lying comfortably, pulling the pillow slightly toward her chest, smiling softly as though she was deeply lost in her thoughts.
Slowly, the bedroom door opened. A beautiful young girl stepped in—she could not be more than sixteen or seventeen years old. She was fair-skinned and stood confidently by the door, smiling while widening her neat eyes in a teasing manner.
She was wearing a white mini gown that reached just above her knees. Her hair was tied up neatly on top like a bun, and she playfully swung one foot while smiling to herself, not even realizing someone was looking at her.
After watching her for a moment, she cleared her throat.
“Uhm… uhm… Jasmine.”
“Jas… Minnn…” she stretched the name slightly.
Friendly Teasing
Jasmine suddenly turned around.
“Huh? Innalillahi!” she exclaimed, startled as she quickly stood up.
Holding her chest dramatically, she said, “Oh my God! Haba Salma, what is that supposed to mean?” she finished in a spoiled tone while pouting.
Salma covered her mouth, trying to suppress the laughter that had already taken over her. But she could not hold it in. She knelt on the floor, laughing uncontrollably.
After laughing enough, she finally looked at Jasmine, who was now pouting like she was about to cry.
“Oh come on,” Salma said. “When will you stop this kind of thinking? Do you even know how long I’ve been in this room?”
“So because you entered, you decided to scare me like that?” Jasmine replied.
Salma stood up, placed her bag on a stool, then returned to sit beside her.
“Okay, I’m sorry.”
“Is that all?” Jasmine asked.
“That’s not what I asked you,” Salma continued. “What were you thinking about? Or should I say… who were you thinking about?”
Jasmine frowned slightly.
“What? Who did you say I was thinking about? God forbid! Please move away from here,” she said while widening her eyes and turning her face away.
Salma smirked.
“Well, well… your answer already revealed everything. I asked you two questions and you only answered one. That means you were actually thinking about someone.”
Jasmine turned away again, clearly not interested in the topic.
“Honestly, Salma, you and this talk of ‘someone’ are too much. Can’t I just sit quietly in my room and enjoy my own thoughts?”
“Of course you can,” Salma replied playfully. “It’s part of relaxation.”
Then she added teasingly, “Hmmmm… Jasmine.”
“Yes?” Jasmine answered lazily.
“It looked like you were staring at something… or maybe I’m just imagining things?”
Jasmine lightly hit her, and both of them burst into laughter.
“I thought you were about to say something serious,” Jasmine said while laughing. “But it’s just nonsense.”
They spent some time chatting happily like friends who had just finished secondary school.
An Evening Walk
Around 5:30 in the evening, they left their grandmother’s house—whom they both called Ammy. Before leaving, they greeted her and said goodbye. She was very happy and blessed them warmly.
Ammy was the only family Jasmine had—the one who stood as both her mother and father.
This time, Jasmine was wearing a fitted brown material gown with a golden-brown veil draped elegantly around her head. As they walked along the path escorting each other, they chatted endlessly.
Then Salma suddenly said,
“My friend, so that’s why! You mean our big brother is returning today? No wonder you’ve been acting differently all day.”
Jasmine smiled slightly and looked at Salma.
In a calm voice she said,
“What happiness are you talking about?”
