ABOUT THIS BOOK

Description

“Anty! Anty! Anty!
Mommy said you should wake up from sleep before she comes herself.”
Raudah hissed loudly and adjusted herself comfortably on the bed without any intention of standing up.
Seeing that, Arya hurried out of the room and rushed to the parlour.
A woman, probably around forty years old, sat on one of the chairs with a phone in her hand, looking like she had just finished a call.
The moment she noticed Arya had returned alone, annoyance immediately appeared on her face.
“Arya, where is Raudah? Did you not go and wake her up?”
Pouting her lips, Arya replied in a childish tone,
“I did, Mommy, but she refused to wake up. She even heard me when I told her Mommy was calling her, but she only pulled the blanket over herself and ignored me.”
“Fine then. Go and call Saleem,” Mommy said as she stood up from the parlour and headed toward Raudah’s room.
Arya immediately ran out of the compound to call Saleem as instructed.
As soon as Mommy entered the room, she saw Raudah curled up tightly under the blanket, fast asleep.
She unplugged the charger from the socket and walked straight to the bed. Reaching there, she pulled off the blanket and struck her with the charger wire.
Raudah screamed sharply.
Without wasting a second, she jumped up rubbing the spot painfully. Sleep still heavily clouded her eyes, but she had no choice except to wake up since Mommy herself had come.
“Honestly Raudah, you are becoming too much! How many times have I sent Arya to wake you up? I did all the house chores by myself today. Wallahi, if you carry this laziness into your husband’s house, you will suffer because no man will tolerate this attitude of yours.”
Raudah remained silent with a pout on her face while Mommy continued scolding her.
“You are gradually becoming exactly like Fauzah. This laziness is becoming too much.”
After saying everything on her mind, Mommy finally walked out of the room.
The moment she left, Raudah also came out and headed toward the backyard.
Seeing that the sun was already high in the sky, she hurriedly grabbed a bucket and rushed toward the kitchen to fetch bathing water.
She saw hot water already boiled inside the kettle, quickly poured it into the bucket, and hurried into the bathroom.
When she finished bathing, she ignored the little breakfast kept for her because she knew it must have gone cold already.
She picked up her iPhone 7 Plus lying on the bed.
The moment she noticed it was eight minutes to eleven, she exclaimed,
“Oh my God! I hope Bestynah is not angry with me because we have not spoken at all today.”
She said while quickly dialing Besty’s number.
She called twice before he finally answered on the third ring without saying anything.
Immediately, she spoke in a soft, pampering tone,
“Haba Besty, since you noticed I did not call you, you should have called me too. Besides, you know today you promised to take me to the tailor.”
From the other side, he also responded lazily with a soft voice,
“Please forgive me, Besty. I did not wake up early. Look at me, I have not even stepped outside my room yet. I do not even know what is happening inside the house. I just woke up now and immediately saw your call.”
