ABOUT THIS BOOK

Description

The entire house was filled with joy. Everyone was busy with preparations, putting one thing up and bringing another down, as they celebrated the return of the eldest son of the family, Haisam.

It had been ten years since he last visited Nigeria. He had been abroad studying and had now completed his third degree in Criminal Investigation. He was a highly intelligent, clever and thoughtful man with exceptional investigative skills. He also understood computers inside and out.

His expertise was so impressive that the authorities in the country where he studied wanted to retain him. Haisam himself also wanted to remain there, but the stern insistence of his father, whom they called Abby, and Hajiya Kaka, who deeply loved her grandson and desperately wanted him close to her, left him with no choice. They intervened and insisted that he return home.

Although he was reluctant, he eventually returned to Nigeria with his vast knowledge and several special awards.

After the plane landed, he emerged from one of the airport exits. He was dressed in black trousers and a white shirt, with a black necktie. He carried his black suit jacket and phone in one hand while pulling his suitcase with the other.

“Masha Allah,” I said when I saw his handsome face, beautifully complemented by his neatly trimmed moustache and the dark sunglasses he wore. His well-styled hair was loose and shining.

This was Haisam—a handsome young man who possessed wealth, beauty, status and education.

The moment his closest friend—or rather, his confidant and brother—Areef saw him, he quickly approached and embraced him with affection and longing.

Haisam knew that the person waiting for him could only be Dr Areef because he was the only person Haisam had called to inform about his arrival. He also wrapped one arm around him, showing how much he had missed and cared for him.

“You’re welcome, Boss,” Areef said, giving him a playful salute.

Haisam glared at him before saying, “No, call me Killer instead.”

Areef burst into laughter as he collected Haisam’s suitcase.

“No, I’ll stick with Boss. Even you know that you are the boss of the family, and the name suits you perfectly. Perhaps the woman who gave you that name has forgotten it by now, but I’m sure she hasn’t forgotten that you’re still the Boss.”

“Mtsww! King of endless talk. Just get me home,” Haisam said as he tried to enter the car.

Dr Areef only laughed, placed his luggage inside the car and drove them toward home.

From the moment they emerged, her eyes had been fixed on Haisam. She completely lost control of herself because he had already captivated her. However, even when he came close to her, he did not glance in her direction, let alone notice that she was there.
