Mama’s Secret with Malik
As Malik reached the door, Mama called out softly:
“Wait, I need to talk to you. Auta, I’ll be back soon.”
She let go of Inaya and followed Malik outside. Inaya returned to bed.
When they were far enough, Mama spoke:
“I know she gave birth to triplets. I don’t blame you for hiding it from her to protect her, but something troubles me.”
Startled, Malik asked,
“How did you know? Only me, the doctor, and two nurses knew she had triplets. Even I was shocked when she found out.”
Mama answered calmly,
“I heard the baby’s voice—just like she did. That’s how we both knew she had three. But you must ask the doctor where your baby is. Inaya won’t rest until she sees him. She keeps hearing his cry.”
Malik sighed deeply before replying,
“Forgive me, Mama, but I can’t. If she learns the truth, she won’t survive it. That’s why I kept it hidden. I beg you too—please don’t tell her.”
Mama frowned.
“But what about the voice she hears?”
“I’ll handle it,” Malik said quickly, brushing past her.
She watched him leave, sighed, then returned to Inaya’s room.
“Auta, wait for me. I’ll be back,” she told her gently.
Inaya simply nodded.
Mama left again, heading straight to the doctor’s office.
Mama Confronts the Doctor
The doctor welcomed her warmly, for everyone in the kingdom knew Mama.
“Doctor,” Mama began firmly, “I want to know where my grandchild is—the one Malik claimed you buried. Return him to his mother with his belongings.”
The doctor’s smile vanished.
“Forgive me, but we already buried him. A nurse secretly took him away. By now, they must be on their way back.”
“Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un! Where exactly was he buried?” Mama exclaimed.
“At the royal cemetery outside the palace. Malik ordered us to keep it hidden.”
Mama hissed softly, then rushed out. Instead of returning to Inaya, she headed for Diya’s quarters.
Mama Seeks Diya’s Help
Inside Diya’s sitting room, she found Nesrine nursing Junior while Diya watched with fatherly joy. Mama entered with a faint smile.
“Welcome, Mama,” Diya greeted warmly.
“Thank you, my son. Nesrine, I hope you’re caring for him well? Or should I assist you?”
Nesrine shook her head with a smile.
Diya offered them a seat, but Mama declined.
“No, Diya. I came to speak with you privately.”
Without question, he followed her outside.
In the courtyard, Abdoul appeared and greeted Mama. She ignored him, turning to Diya:
“I need your help. Take me to the royal cemetery.”
“Cemetery?” Abdoul asked in surprise. “What business do you have there, Mama?”
Before she could answer, Diya spoke:
“Because that’s where Malik ordered the baby to be buried. I overheard him telling the nurses to hide it. I too know Inaya had triplets.”
Mama’s eyes welled with urgency.
“Please, Diya, I feel in my spirit that the baby isn’t dead. Even if he is, Inaya must see him—otherwise Aswad will never forgive Malik.”
“Then let’s go,” Diya agreed immediately.
They left swiftly in Diya’s car, Malik watching suspiciously from afar.
Hafsat’s Bitterness
Meanwhile, Hafsat sat gloomily in the parlor, dressed in mourning black. Her eyes were swollen from endless tears.
Manisha entered carrying a tray of fruits.
“Please, eat something—for the babies in your womb,” she pleaded kindly.
Furious, Hafsat knocked the tray to the floor, scattering the fruits.
Manisha sighed,
“Be grateful Malik only divorced you. He could have ordered your execution for what you did to his sister.”
Hafsat glared with bloodshot eyes.
“And what about what they did to me? Malik killed my father. Now he has killed my husband too!”
Manisha shook her head.
“Your father and husband reaped what they sowed. I knew your father’s cruelty well. He once tried to kill me with a knife, leaving me scarred. As for Aymane, you knew his wickedness but supported him. Now you suffer the consequence.”
“You lie!” Hafsat shouted. “You defend him because he’s your sister’s son. My husband was innocent. I lived with him—I never saw him shed blood. You just want to brand him evil because of what I did to Rianna. But I swear, I won’t let Nawfel live in peace since he ruined my life!”
Manisha chuckled bitterly.
“And what exactly will you do?”
Hafsat smiled coldly, rubbing her belly.
“Not me. My unborn son will. If he truly carries Aymane’s blood, he will avenge his father. He will destroy this Saudi kingdom. If I fail to ruin them, my son will. For I am Mohammed’s daughter.”
Horrified, Manisha gasped.
“Hafsat, do you realize what you’re saying—?”
But before she could finish, Hafsat vanished into thin air. Shocked and terrified, Manisha fainted.
At the Royal Cemetery
Mama and Diya arrived at the cemetery under the blazing sun. It was vast and empty, like a desert.
“This is like searching for a needle in hay,” Diya muttered.
Mama’s voice was stern.
“You may not find him, but your serpent can. If Aswad’s blood runs in him, the child is still alive.”
Diya froze, eyes wide in disbelief.
Mama smirked knowingly.
“Did you think you could hide it from me? I see everything, even secrets kept in the dark. Call your serpent—we have no time to waste.”
Reluctantly, Diya nodded. Closing his eyes, he whispered incantations until his body transformed into a serpent. Slithering across the graves, he searched until he stopped at one spot.
He reverted to human form, signaling Mama. She joined him, her eyes glowing white for a moment before commanding,
“Dig here.”
With his tail, then his hands, Diya dug until they uncovered a small bundle wrapped in cloth.
Mama’s hands trembled as she unwrapped it—only to find a doll.
“Subhanallah!” she gasped. “Where is Nayab?”
Diya shook his head in shock.
“I don’t know. He was wrapped in this cloth before. Someone must have taken him later.”
Mama’s eyes widened in horror.
“Then Nayab did not die. He is alive. But who took him? And why replace him with a doll?”
Diya remained silent, unable to answer.
The mystery deepened.
