ABOUT THIS BOOK

Description

The Abdullahi Group

The Abdullahi Group Company (A.G.C) is a massive empire whose true size not even its founder can fully define, as he continues to expand by acquiring new industries. Over two million employees work under its umbrella, particularly in the steel manufacturing sector. Despite his wealth and power, the current owner, Adam Tariq Abdullahi, still manages a company he inherited as a joint legacy from his late father and uncles — a venture close to his heart due to the sacrifices made by his father.

A.G.C is famed globally for producing high-end fashion and custom-made clothing — everything from traditional African wear to luxury suits for royalty and world leaders. They offer personalized designs, embroidery, and even digital print services, making them leaders in the fashion and branding industry.

One morning at the steel sector of the company, Manager Malik received word of Mr. ATA’s impending arrival via the roar of his private jet. Malik quickly organized his team. “No mistakes,” he warned his workers. “Ensure every item arrives on time.”

The Arrival of ATA

Adam Tariq Abdullahi, known globally as Mr. ATA, is a billionaire Hausa businessman — the wealthiest in his class. In his late 30s, he’s striking, confident, and intimidating. Tall, fair-skinned, with sharp features and glowing eyes, his presence alone demands respect. Though highly educated with a PhD in business and still pursuing more, ATA is known for his cold demeanor, fiery temper, and lack of tolerance for mistakes — a stark contrast to his kind-hearted parents.

His arrival at the factory halts all operations. Workers pause, eyes fixed on his helicopter as it lands. Dressed in an elegant cream suit with black details, and dark shades shielding his intense eyes, he steps out with poise. His security team, all in matching suits and armed, flank him. One carries a briefcase matching ATA’s attire — a symbol of elite order.

ATA proceeds calmly, hand in pocket, eyes scanning the facility. Malik, visibly nervous, greets him respectfully. “Sir, welcome.” ATA nods and offers a rare handshake, praising Malik for keeping operations smooth. “A bird shouldn’t eat grain it didn’t work for,” he says, a quiet warning wrapped in praise.

Malik invites him to the office, but ATA declines. Instead, he sits on a luxurious chair under a shaded pavilion in the yard — his preferred thinking spot. He praises Malik’s dedication but informs him of a transfer. “You’re going to manage our new oil and gas discovery,” he says, revealing that a rare petroleum compound he’d been searching for seven years has finally been found in Apapa.

Malik protests, preferring to remain with the steel division. ATA reassures him, “Don’t worry. I’ve brought your replacement. You’re too valuable to stay stuck here.”

A Search for a Face

From the briefcase, ATA pulls out ten identical framed sketches — a young woman’s portrait. He stares at them intensely, the light in his eyes glimmering. “Did you find her, Malik?” he asks, voice firm but curious.

Malik shakes his head. “Not yet, sir, but I’m trying.”

“Don’t worry about the why,” ATA cuts him off as a phone rings.

An aide passes him the phone. Seeing the caller ID, ATA softens. “My sweetheart,” he murmurs, taking the call respectfully and walking away. His voice is low, calm. “Please be patient with me. I’m still searching. But one day, I promise you’ll be truly happy.”

As he listens to her soothing words, a rare smile forms at the corner of his lips — her forgiveness and understanding clearly giving him peace of mind.

A Glimpse of Luxury in Lagos

Meanwhile in Lagos, around 5 PM on a Wednesday, four young women cruise in a black Land Cruiser Prado. Dressed stylishly, they’re headed to Apapa GRA. Humaira, seated beside the driver Mubina, pulls out her iPhone 12 Pro Max, recording snaps while giggling and teasing. Mubina flashes a peace sign as she focuses on driving.

In a short while, they arrive at a grand gate inscribed "ABDULLAHI ESTATE". The security recognizes them instantly and lets them in. Within the estate are over twenty luxury duplexes, but only one stands out — the home of Hajiya Zulaiheart, the mother of Adam Tariq Abdullahi.

The scene subtly hints at another chapter — one that may connect the Lagos girls to the mysterious portrait ATA was seeking, a future plot thread yet to be unraveled.
