A Mad Man in Love... or Loved by Madness?
 
A filthy man in his 30s wanders the streets — hair matted, clothes torn, body caked in dirt. Children mock him, calling him “Majnoon” (the madman), singing and chasing him as he scavenges trash and dances to their cruel chants. Yet despite his appearance, he is strikingly handsome.
 
Then comes Rumaisa, a young woman in her early 20s, well-mannered and modest in hijab. She defends Majnoon from the children and even brings him food. When he jokingly asks, “When are we getting married?” she smiles and says, “Tomorrow.” The joy on his face is both heartwarming and heartbreaking.
 
But Rumaisa is deeply conflicted — is it love she feels, or just pity?
 
Enter: Fahad — the Ex-Lover
 
As she walks home, a black car suddenly halts in front of her — it’s Fahad, her ex-lover. He pleads for her attention, begging for just two minutes to speak. Rumaisa, filled with pain and tears, lashes out:
 
> “Leave me alone! I hate you! You’re ruining my peace!”
 
Despite his apologies and desperate confessions of love, she slaps him and walks away.
 
Before leaving, he ominously warns:
 
> “Since you’ve refused me all this time, I’ll kidnap you.”
 
Back Home — Trouble Awaits
 
At home, Rumaisa finds her father already suspicious. He had warned her multiple times to stay away from the madman — Majnoon — but she disobeyed. Furious, her father slaps her hard and announces that tomorrow she will be married off to Faisal, a man she does not love.
 
Rumaisa is devastated. Crying and clinging to her mother, she begs:
 
> “Please, Umma… I don’t want to marry Faisal. I love someone else.”
 
Heartbreak and Fear
 
Locked in her room, Rumaisa cries herself to sleep — thinking only of Majnoon. In a nightmare, she dreams he gets run over by a drunk driver. She wakes up panicked, whispering his name. Fear grips her. Could something really happen to him?
 
She tries to convince herself to stay in bed. But her heart longs to see him.
 
The Next Morning
 
After a sleepless night, Rumaisa prepares for school. Her father is still angry but allows her to go — under strict supervision. He sends a driver with her and warns:
> “Don’t think of going to that madman again. I've spoken with Faisal’s father. Your wedding will be soon.”
Rumaisa leaves, tears hidden behind her calm exterior, her heart aching for Majnoon.
