The Abduction and Police Investigation
 
In a state of extreme fear and panic, Suraj and his companions stepped back, sweat dripping down from each of them. Their hearts began to pound rapidly as they became confused and helpless. They turned to look at Zahra and the others lying unconscious on the ground, moving closer in shock and disbelief.
 
Unfortunately, the four of them suddenly felt the sting of needles at the back of their necks. Instantly, they fell to the ground, losing consciousness. They tried to crawl toward Zahra’s direction to save their lives, but the kidnappers hit them on their heads with gun butts, knocking them out cold.
 
Seeing that, the kidnappers began carrying them one after another into an old ruin at the center of the forest. They laid them down inside and tied them up securely.
 
Meanwhile, the DPO had already sent out police officers to investigate Zahra’s disappearance. When he received reports that Zahra was being held within a royal palace in Kano, he wasted no time heading there himself. While in Kano, he kept staring at a mysterious book in his hands and wondered aloud, “What could possibly be inside this book?”
 
The Truth Revealed in the Palace
 
“Your Highness,” one of the men said respectfully, “with due honor, I swear that Zahra is innocent. She did not poison Mami. I personally witnessed Samira and her friends putting poison into the drink. Fearing the consequences, I recorded a video as proof.”
 
“That’s a lie!” exclaimed Princess Saratu angrily. “How could you accuse Samira of poisoning Mami? It’s impossible! Zahra is the one responsible — that shameless girl! Why would Samira harm Mami? Mami is like a mother to her. That accusation makes no sense!”
 
Junaid let out a disappointed sigh. “Your Highness,” he said calmly, “please, fear God and speak the truth. I saw it with my own eyes. If you don’t believe me, here’s the video — see for yourself.” He placed his phone down and played the video showing Samira pouring something into Mami’s drink while glancing around nervously.
 
Everyone gasped in shock. The King’s face darkened in anger as his heart filled with disappointment. “Is this true?” he thundered. “What did Mami ever do to deserve such wickedness? She has always treated you as her daughters! For this evil act and for falsely accusing another woman, you must be punished. Samira, Fasma, and Yusra — I will make sure justice is served!”
 
He immediately ordered his guards to seize them.
 
Turning toward Princess Saratu and Talatu, he said sternly, “As for you two, I know you supported their schemes. Without your encouragement, this crime wouldn’t have happened. You are leaders of corruption in this palace. For that, I decree that both of you be banished to your fathers’ homes — until further notice!”
 
Everyone in the hall was shocked. Saratu and Talatu fell to their knees, weeping and begging the King for mercy. Through tears, Mami pleaded, “Your Majesty, please have mercy on them. They have children, and it would bring shame to the royal family if they’re sent away. I’m sure they regret their actions. Please forgive them for my sake.”
 
The King paused, thinking deeply. After a moment, he looked at everyone and said, “Because Mami has forgiven you, I also pardon you. But beware — if any of you repeat such behavior, I will exile you permanently and issue severe punishment. Now, go and apologize to Mami.”
 
They rose in gratitude, crying as they turned to Mami. “Please forgive us, Mami. We promise never to harm you again. We repent and turn to God.”
 
With a gentle smile, Mami replied, “It’s alright. We wrong God daily, yet He forgives us. I forgive you too — both in this world and the hereafter.”
 
Joy filled the room as they thanked her sincerely. The King then ordered them to return to their chambers.
 
But for Samira and her accomplices, he commanded that they be taken to the dungeon and each receive a hundred lashes. Their cries filled the palace, but the King ignored Mami’s pleas for their release.
 
Meanwhile, Junaid quietly left with his phone — the proof that had revealed the truth — and went back to his quarters.
 
The King turned to Mami and said, “A’isha, please forgive me for everything you’ve suffered. It’s my fault for allowing all of you to live together under one roof. If I had separated you, this might not have happened.”
 
Mami shook her head gently. “No, Your Highness. Keeping us together helped us learn unity. Separation would have only caused more division. I hold no grudge. My only wish now is for Zahra to return home, so we can seek her forgiveness for the false accusations against her.”
 
The King smiled. “Insha’Allah, I will find her. I believe Suraj is with her. May Allah bless you, A’isha — your heart is truly pure.”
 
Mami smiled back. “And I thank Allah for giving me a husband who made me a queen — both in the palace and in his heart.”
 
The Royal Lineage and Sooraj’s Exile
 
Who is the King? Who is Sooraj?
Let us look back into the history of this royal family.
 
King Haruna Yusuf was the father of Kabir Yusuf — the current King. King Haruna was a just ruler, known for fairness and compassion. He had only one wife, Hafsat, and one son, Kabir. They lived peacefully, but King Haruna suffered from partial paralysis. Kabir loved his father deeply and sought every cure possible, yet nothing worked. Queen Hafsat was heartbroken and constantly prayed for her husband’s healing.
 
While studying in Malaysia, Kabir met Mami (A’isha). They fell in love and soon planned marriage. But before the wedding could happen, tragedy struck — King Haruna died suddenly of a heart attack. The kingdom mourned deeply, and soon after, Hafsat also passed away from grief. It was a dark period Kabir would never forget.
 
After some time, Kabir was crowned King and married A’isha as his first wife, despite her brother’s disapproval from Jigawa. Soon after, A’isha became pregnant and gave birth to their son, Sooraj.
 
For ten years after Sooraj’s birth, Mami could no longer conceive. She pleaded with the King to take another wife, but he refused. Sooraj adored his mother beyond measure — her sadness was his sadness, and he could not bear to see her in pain.
 
Eventually, seeing Mami’s tears and hearing her constant pleas, the King agreed to take another wife to make her happy. He married Saratu, a troublesome and proud woman from a poor family. Within two months, she became pregnant. Mami rejoiced, as did Sooraj, who dreamed of having a sibling.
 
But one fateful day, Sooraj returned from school and found Mami washing Saratu’s clothes. Furious, he lashed out at Saratu with harsh words. She complained to the King, who — without listening to Sooraj’s side — ordered him to leave Nigeria and continue his education in London, under his friend’s care. The King strictly warned that Sooraj must not return home until he completed his studies.
