What made the incident most alarming was that the kidnappers struck right outside his home, even extending their audacity to the mosque attached to his residence, where Kashim was last seen observing prayer.
 
Worshippers were left in disbelief. "How could such a thing happen at the mosque and his home simultaneously?" echoed across media houses. The story spread like wildfire across television, radio, and newspapers, fueling fear and speculation.
 
SCENE OF GRIEF
 
Back at the residence, Hajiya Ummah Diamond, Kashim's wife, lay unconscious with grief, while two young men showered her with water, urging her to wake. One sobbing voice, Ja'abit, her son, kept repeating, "In sha Allah, our daddy will come back."
