ABOUT THIS BOOK
Description
She was lying on her huge bed, sleeping peacefully and calmly, when the soft ringing of her iPhone 16 Pro Max woke her up. Honestly, it was not because she had slept enough. She sat up and recited the prayer for waking from sleep, then stretched a little, because the tiredness from her return from Japan the day before yesterday had still not left her.
Slowly, she picked up the phone and stared at the number calling her. Truecaller showed her who the caller was. It was a stubborn young man who had been disturbing her since she was in Japan. She did not even know where he had gotten her number from.
Anger clearly appeared on her beautiful, moderately fair face. She was fair, but not too fair. The smoothness of her skin and her large eyes were the first things that would catch anyone's attention, along with the gift of facial beauty and the perfect body shape that Allah had blessed her with.
She was beautiful in such a way that once you looked at her, you would be forced to look again.
She had a slim nose that matched the proper shape of her face. Her mouth was moderate in size. You could not call it small, and you could not call it big either.
She had large eyes with long lashes, and her thick eyebrows added even more beauty to her appearance.
By Allah, I do not even know which tribe I should connect this blessed woman to. She was not Fulani, not Arab, not Indian, and not Tuareg either. To be honest, the closest description for her would be Shuwa Arab, because even the tone of her fair skin looked exactly like theirs. The only difference was that her fairness was not dull. In truth, I found the color of her skin even more attractive, because very few people have that kind of complexion, maybe five out of every thousand.
Before the phone could finish ringing, she hissed loudly in deep anger. She removed the small earring from her ear, took the SIM card out of the phone, and broke it completely.
I was very surprised to see how she changed in just one moment, as if she had never known the meaning of laughter.
She stood up and looked at the clock. She was very surprised to see that it was already 5:30. Indeed, she had slept for a long time because of tiredness. Since she was on her monthly period and not praying, she only took a bath and came out. The room was filled with the sweet fragrance of the soaps she had used.
She only sprayed perfume without even checking the mirror. Then she dressed herself in a long Ankara street gown. The style fitted her perfectly, and only then did I fully observe her figure. She was tall, with a moderate body shape. Allah had blessed her with a beautiful body, not too much and not too little.
She tied the matching Ankara scarf in a simple style, but it looked so beautiful on her that one would think she was going to a grand celebration. She looked extremely beautiful even without makeup. I wondered how she would look if she actually dressed up properly.
The scream she heard from the sitting room made her look toward the door. Before she could make any serious movement, the door was pushed open, and someone rushed in. The next thing she felt was a tight hug filled with pure joy.
The girl said, "Favorite sister, what kind of surprise visit is this? Wallahi, I did not know you were coming at all until a while ago when Hajiya told Mommy. She told me you had returned, and after I came back from school, I did not even sit down. I came straight here to see my sister. How was Japan?"
Her face relaxed from its frown, and she gave a small smile before saying, "Japan was fine, Alhamdulillah, Sister Safa. But what kind of weight gain is this? It is as if you are not even studying."
Safa released her from the hug and held her hand as they walked toward the door leading to the sitting room.
She said, "What will make me lose weight? That is for people like you who deny their eyes sleep because of studies. Now it is time to stop studying. Enough is enough. You have done a degree, you have done a master's, and you have done a PhD. That is enough."
She finished speaking just as they entered the large sitting room. The room was quiet and peaceful. There were two beautiful and soft sets of chairs, a huge plasma television, and different framed pictures arranged around the sitting room.
"You have told her the truth, Safa. Now she should come and get married. All this wandering around is enough."
The fair elderly woman sitting with a hijab and prayer beads in her hand said this with a serious face.
Ibtihal pushed her lips forward and sat down with an angry expression on her face, without saying anything.
"Honestly, Hajiya has spoken the truth, Sister Ibti. Wallahi, it is time for you to settle down and choose one among all these thousands of men who love you, so we can celebrate a wedding. You know everyone has been waiting for your return. As for me, I am still campaigning for my brother. Wallahi, Ibtihal, Yaya Yusuf loves you so much. His mother chose five girls for him, but he said he does not want any of them, all because of you. Please marry Yaya Yusuf, for Allah's sake, Ibti. Wallahi, he will take care of you more than you can imagine. He will make you forget every trial, hardship, and sadness you went through in the past. He will give you happiness beyond..."
