The Morning Rush
 
Maimuna, a radiant 21-year-old student at BUK, emerges from the hallway of their modest home, adjusting her Zahra Buhari-style headscarf. Dressed in a gold, blue, and milk atamfa, she prepares for school while managing household duties. She's saddened by the untouched breakfast she prepared—neither her father (Abba) nor her brother Yusuf showed up to eat.
 
Abba’s Silent Struggle
 
Maimuna visits her father’s room. Abba, a dignified elderly man with a pure white beard and calm demeanor, lies unaware that morning has come. Upon her greeting, he realizes with shock that it’s already past 8:30 a.m. He had been waiting to hear the call to prayer, unaware that time had slipped by due to his declining health and depression. Maimuna, heartbroken, gently supports him through his morning rituals.
 
Yusuf’s Hidden Pain
 
Stepping out, Maimuna encounters Yusuf, her quiet and responsible brother. She notices he hasn’t prepared for work and is visibly upset. When she asks, he denies crying but hands her fare to school, saying he’s staying home today. Concerned, she insists something is wrong.
 
A Sibling’s Breakdown
 
Yusuf admits he's emotionally exhausted—feeling the weight of their broken family, an absent mother, and their father's mental health. The recent loss of Safiya, his potential bride, further breaks him. Maimuna, overwhelmed with empathy, runs to inform their other brother, Imran.
 
Imran: The Wild One
 
Imran, the unpredictable and emotionally volatile brother, is caught smoking in his room. When Maimuna disturbs him, he reacts harshly, blowing smoke in her face. When she accuses him of scaring away Safiya with his erratic behavior, he becomes defensive and furious. Despite his wildness, he deeply loves his family.
 
Confrontation and Promises
 
Imran storms into Yusuf’s room, demanding who made his brother cry. Yusuf remains calm, focused on caring for their ill father. Imran is enraged at how their family's reputation has affected Yusuf’s love life, blaming Safiya’s family for judging them harshly.
 
Determined to Fix It
 
Fueled by guilt and love for his brother, Imran vows to make things right—promising he will ensure Yusuf marries Safiya, even if it means confronting her family directly. He storms out, determined and unstoppable.
 
The Broken House
 
The story reveals the deep fractures within their household: a once-stable family now drowning in depression, rejection, and unspoken pain. Abba, once strong and wise, is now mentally worn and physically weak. Yusuf bears the burden of stability, Imran masks pain with anger, and Maimuna—though soft and kind—struggles to hold them all together.
