ABOUT THIS BOOK

Description

A Strange Dream of Love
She slowly closed her eyes, overwhelmed with a deep and powerful excitement. She gently bit her lips before opening them again, staring at him with soft admiration. Her eyes were filled with love as she admired the bright red robe he was wearing, decorated with beautiful shining details, along with the turban that completely covered his forehead.
With deep emotion she said,
“My guard, I love you. I love you as if I would die for you. Look at me here; it is your love that brings me every day to the path where you pass. I stand there watching you and the others as you go by. And now I hear that we have even been married. Oh, the joy is killing me!”
In a harsh and unpleasant voice he replied,
“Be quiet. I do not like noise. The only kind of woman I love is a guard’s wife. So keep quiet.”
Fear filled her heart as she noticed his clothing beginning to change, slowly turning into ordinary human clothes. She clasped her hands together nervously, shaking her head as tears streamed down her face.
“No, no! Don’t disappear. Don’t wear the clothes of ordinary people. I will die if you don’t come to me as yourself. I want to see you exactly as you are. Please, don’t do this to me!”
Awakening from the Dream
A sudden slap across her face forced her eyes open. The dreamy look in her eyes disappeared as she returned abruptly from the world of dreams. In confusion she looked around at the people who had gathered around her, hearing faint laughter as they mocked her.
Still disoriented, she stared at them before looking down at her trembling hands. She clenched them tightly and let out a deep, shaky breath. At that moment she heard her friend’s voice saying,
“Stand up, let’s go. School is over and you’re sleeping like someone who has nothing to do.”
Quickly she glanced at the classroom board before standing up from where she had been lying. She checked her clothes nervously, worried that the slap might have made her wet herself. But more than that, she wondered who had actually slapped her—was it her friend or someone else?
She quickly grabbed her bag and followed her friend, throwing sharp looks at anyone who made eye contact with her until they finally reached the street outside.
For a while she remained silent. Then suddenly she said,
“It’s strange… the way I saw him felt so real. People, am I going crazy?”
Her friend turned to her with slight annoyance and replied,
“If you weren’t crazy before, the way you behaved today will definitely make people think you are. Didn’t you see how you were shaking and begging, saying you loved him? Who exactly do you love? Are you going to keep behaving like this?”
She stopped walking as a cold feeling ran through her body.
“Maybe I have really gone mad… I don’t know.”
Her Obsession with the Royal Guard
Amina turned to look at her carefully. Her friend’s eyes, which had a dark blue inner color with a hint of black in the center, were filled with tears. Amina sighed and continued walking.
She quickly grabbed Amina’s hand and said softly,
“Amina, please tell me the truth. Are these signs that I am losing my mind? Even if they marry me to the palace messenger, I will still want the royal guard. That’s why I stand near the guards, because in this world if you want to see someone close to the king, it is the royal guard. The guard prepares the king when he mounts his horse, adjusts his royal robe, holds the umbrella over him, and even protects his secrets. People say the guard stays beside the king even when the king visits his wives. If Allah answers the prayer I have been making—that I become the king’s sister and marry a royal guard—then I will truly become part of the royal family.”
Amina stared at her in disbelief before pulling her hand away.
“You really need to calm down. I keep telling you to be reasonable. It’s not only the king’s secrets that matter—even the king’s wife! Your obsession with royal matters is becoming a problem. You know every story about every kingdom in the world. When people discuss the history of kings you can even explain it with your eyes closed. Honestly, your brain is too sharp to be behaving like this.”
She nodded slightly before turning her eyes with a stubborn expression and said,
“So what? If someone insults you in front of others, will you just accept it? Everyone has their own test in life. Mine is the royal guard. And if they ever bring him to my room, you can faint and die from shock for all I care.”
Amina also frowned, and both of them continued walking angrily in silence.
I expected to see her enter a broken house, judging from her simple clothes. I thought she might go into one of the servant houses near the school she came from. But instead, she walked confidently into a large and beautiful mansion. She passed the security guard at the gate without hesitation while he sat there smoking his cigarette, making no attempt to stop her—as if he already knew she was allowed to enter.
She walked straight toward the back area that looked like the kitchen. Two women were sitting there eating but didn’t even look up at her. She hurried into the cooking area and began opening the food containers where she believed her portion of food was usually kept, something no one would expect in such a luxurious house.
But finding nothing there made her step outside angrily. She looked around in frustration, shook her head, and walked toward the main entrance before opening the large living room that belonged to the house.
