Rain was falling gently as Aminu sat by the window, watching people move back and forth along the muddy road. His heart was filled with dreams far greater than his age.
 
Binash was an orphan. He lost his father when he was only twelve years old. From that moment, his life changed completely. His mother, Hajiya Safiya, took responsibility for raising him and his younger sister, Hairana.
 
Despite their poverty, Aminu never stopped dreaming of becoming a great journalist.
 
As usual, they were sitting together one evening, having a quiet conversation.
 
“One day, Umma, I will become someone who defends the truth and helps the weak,” he said softly.
 
Umma looked at him with a smile, gently stroked his head and said,
 
“May Allah help you, my son. Always remember that the truth comes at a price, but its reward is more valuable than gold.”
 
Umma did not think deeply about Binash’s ambition at all.
 
However, her words found a permanent place in his heart. With each passing day, his determination grew stronger, along with his desire to fulfil his dream.
 
That was how they lived through both good and difficult times. Umma was not the only one struggling; Binash also worked tirelessly every day to improve their lives. Despite his young age, he endured many hardships and did different kinds of labour to support himself and preserve his dignity.
 
His father’s relatives had abandoned them long ago. They even took away all their inheritance. The only thing they managed to keep was the family house, which became their refuge.
 
SOME YEARS LATER
 
The years passed.
 
Binash completed his education with excellent results. Eventually, he secured a job at a major media organisation called Haske Media.
 
On his first day at the office, he met a beautiful young woman named Banasha.
 
Banasha was cheerful, educated and composed.
 
Gathering his courage, he said,
 
“Assalamu alaiki.”
 
She responded with a smile,
 
“Wa alaikasalam.”
 
Her smile made Binash’s heart beat faster.
 
He quickly looked away because of the way his heart was pounding. Trying to remain calm, he sat down at the desk assigned to him and confidently said,
 
“My name is Binash Bin Zain, and I am the new employee who will be starting work here.”
 
Her smile widened as she replied with the natural friendliness that had become part of her character.
 
“Masha Allah, congratulations. May Allah make your new beginning successful. My name is Banisha Sa’id. I have been working here for quite some time—about three years, or perhaps even longer.”
