ABOUT THIS BOOK

Description

When he reached his car, the rear door was opened for him and he got inside without acknowledging the greetings from his bodyguards.

They closed the door behind him, got into their own vehicle and set off towards the airport in Lagos.

---

Nadrah cried until she had no more tears left. Afterwards, she took a shower and came out with a towel wrapped around her body while using a smaller one to dry her hair.

Yasir was still lying there crying like a child.

The moment he saw her, he quickly got up and embraced her from behind, bursting into tears once again.

“Zumah, I'm sorry. Please, I won't do it again.”

Truthfully, Nadrah felt sorry for Yasir. She had known him for as long as she could remember, and she knew perfectly well how deeply and obsessively he loved her.

She slowly turned around to face him and wiped the tears from his face before comforting him with a kiss.

Their reconciliation soon became physically intimate again. Although Nadrah enjoyed the physical side of their relationship, the narration makes it clear that she did not love Yasir. For her, their relationship was transactional: she wanted money and physical pleasure rather than romance.

[The original then contains an extended explicit sexual encounter, omitted here because Nadrah was previously established as sixteen.]

---

By the time they reached the airport, he dismissed his bodyguards after giving them a large amount of money—so much that even he didn't know exactly how much he had handed them.

They didn't thank him because they already knew that he disliked being thanked.

They remained at the airport until he had boarded the plane and it had taken off. They prayed that Allah would protect him on his journey before finally leaving the airport.

## ABUJA STATE
### ALKALI WAZEER MANSION

It was an enormous and magnificent mansion, so beautifully designed and sophisticated that anyone seeing it might doubt that such a building was actually located in Nigeria.

A beautiful twelve-year-old girl came running downstairs, repeatedly calling for her mother.

“Ammi! Ammi! Ammi!”

A beautiful, fair-skinned Arab woman was sitting on one of the royal chairs in the enormous living room, which was lavishly furnished with luxurious furniture. Words could hardly do justice to the elegance of the house.

She removed her small, delicate glasses and placed the newspaper she had been reading on the glass table in front of her.

Looking at the excited girl who had practically thrown herself into her arms, she asked,

“My Iftee, what is it this time?”

She affectionately stroked the girl's baby-like face.

With pure excitement written all over her face, Iftee said,

“Ammi, Yaya Areef is almost in Abuja! I just spoke to him on the phone. Please, Ammi, check the kitchen and make sure they've finished preparing his lunch. He told me he's very hungry.”

She finished with a childish pout.

Ammi playfully pinched her cheeks.

“Come on, little one. You already know everything is ready downstairs. Look at the dining area—they've prepared everything. You know your brother doesn't like waiting for anything, don't you?”

Little Iftee nodded as she looked towards the dining table.

It was covered with enormous dishes of food, almost as though the family were preparing for a celebration.

“I've already sent your father's driver and security men to wait for him at the airport,” Ammi continued. “Now go and take your bath before he gets here and sees you looking like this, or he'll give you one of those knocks on the head again.”

Iftee immediately touched her thick, beautifully styled Arab-like hair.

“Ouch, Ammi! Just mentioning it already makes me feel those painful knocks he gives me.”

Ammi laughed.

“Then hurry upstairs and get ready, since you don't want anyone helping you bathe.”

Iftee laughed, jumped up from beside Ammi and hurried upstairs.

She knew perfectly well that if Areef arrived and found her like that, she would definitely receive one of his notorious knocks on the head—even though, in reality, there was hardly anything untidy about her.

### 2:32 P.M.

Their plane landed at the airport in Abuja.

Areef was the first to descend the aircraft stairs.

He carried himself with remarkable dignity.

He was tall and powerfully built, with a broad chest resembling that of a boxer. His entire presence radiated authority, confidence and pride.

His thick black hair was smooth and glossy, carefully styled and long enough at the back to rest slightly against his neck.

He was extremely fair-skinned, with distinctly Arab features, and strongly resembled his mother. In fact, he was exceptionally handsome.

His large eyes always appeared half-closed, giving him the appearance of someone who was perpetually sleepy. His eyebrows were thick and dark, complementing his long nose and small mouth with naturally reddish, glossy lips.

Everything about him seemed perfectly proportioned.

The security men approached as soon as they saw him emerging from the plane. They quickly collected the suitcase from his hand while greeting him.

He didn't respond.

Instead, he simply headed towards where their vehicles were parked and got inside the one prepared for him.

He was extremely tired and desperate to reach home. Hunger was also tormenting him because he hadn't even eaten breakfast.

The driver immediately headed for home before his exhaustion and hunger created another problem for them.

---

Back at the hotel, Yasir and Nadrah's encounter eventually came to an end. Yasir remained overwhelmed by his feelings for her and again told her how deeply he loved her.

He gently stroked her face, kissed her forehead and said,

“I love you so much, my Zumah.”

Nadrah merely smiled.

“Thank you, Yasir.”

Yasir was about to say something else when Nadrah's phone began ringing again. Someone had been calling her repeatedly for some time.

She got up and walked towards the phone, but the call ended before she could answer.

She looked at the screen.

**10 missed calls from Nafisa, her younger sister.**

Alarmed, Nadrah immediately called her back.

The call had barely rung once before Nafisa answered.

“Anty Nadrah, where are you?” Nafisa asked through tears.

Nadrah immediately became worried.

“Nafisa, what's wrong? Why are you crying?”

“Anty Nadrah, Abba is in the hospital. He looks like he's going to die! Please come quickly!”

Nafisa burst into tears again.

Nadrah's heart raced.

“Which hospital?”

“We're at DIYANA HOSPITAL. Please come quickly. Abba is in a critical condition.”

“I'm coming right now, Nafisa. Calm down. Abba won't die, Insha Allah.”

She immediately ended the call.

Panic took over.

Nadrah hurriedly began searching for her clothes. She didn't even stop to shower again. She dressed as quickly as possible, grabbed her belongings and headed for the door.

Yasir stared at her in confusion.

“Baby, what's wrong?”

She was too distressed to explain. She only wanted to leave; she could tell him everything later.

Yasir quickly blocked her path.

“Baby, wait. Tell me what's happening.”

She tried to move past him.

He grabbed her arm firmly.

“Zumah, you're not going anywhere in this condition. You can't drive like this.”

Nadrah suddenly slapped him hard across the face.

Angrily, she snapped,

“You're not my husband! You have no right to tell me whether I can leave or not!”

She opened the door and stormed out.

Yasir smiled.

He touched the cheek she had slapped, then kissed his own hand as though her scent still lingered there.

Softly, he murmured,

“Baby Zumah, no matter what you do to me, it will never make me stop loving you. If anything, my love for you is only beginning.”

He went into the bathroom to clean himself up.

Already, he was beginning to miss her.

Without her, the entire room suddenly felt empty.

---

Nadrah rushed towards where she had parked her car, opened the door and jumped inside.

She was completely shaken.

She started the car and sped away from the hotel, barely even conscious of how she was driving.

---

Elsewhere, Areef rested his head against the back seat of his car and closed his large eyes.

The ringing of his phone pulled him from his thoughts.

He looked at the screen.

**Safnah.**

He answered and placed the phone against his ear without saying anything.

“Hello, baby. Have you arrived?” she asked.

He closed his eyes.

“Yes.”

“What time are we meeting?”

Almost five minutes passed before he finally answered.

“9:00 p.m.”

He immediately ended the call without waiting to hear what she had to say.

---

Traffic had stopped at a red light.

Nadrah, lost in her panic, failed to notice in time.

**Bang!**

Her car crashed into the vehicle directly in front of her.

Her large eyes widened.

*Inna lillahi…*

The bodyguards from the other vehicle immediately jumped out angrily.

Nadrah closed her eyes briefly before slowly getting out of her car.

“Please, I'm so sorry.”

Before she could properly explain herself, one of the bodyguards slapped her.

“Can't you see where you're going?”

Nadrah immediately raised a hand to her cheek and stared at him in shock.

Inside the other vehicle, Areef had been resting with his eyes closed ever since the collision. Now he watched what was happening through the mirror in front of him.

His gaze remained fixed on Nadrah's face for several moments before he deliberately looked away.

Nadrah's shock quickly turned into fury.

She slapped the bodyguard back.

Once.

Then a second time.

She raised her hand to slap him for the third time when someone suddenly grabbed her wrist tightly.

She was shoved backwards and fell to the ground.

Nadrah looked up at the man responsible.

It was Areef.

He stared down at her contemptuously.

In his usual calm voice, almost as though speaking required effort, he said,

“Don't try that again, you useless, reckless girl. Look at you. He slapped you once, and you're trying to slap him three times—even though you were the one at fault.”

Nadrah stared at him in disbelief.

Who did this man think he was to look at her that way and speak to her like that?

Then she suddenly remembered where she was supposed to be going.

The traffic light had already changed and other vehicles were moving again. She had no time to waste arguing with these people.

She quickly stood up.

She was about to leave when Areef suddenly grabbed her and pulled her backwards so forcefully that she almost lost her balance again.

“Apologize before you leave,” he said. “You seem rather stubborn.”

Nadrah was speechless at the man's arrogance.

She slowly closed her eyes.

For some inexplicable reason, the sight sent a strange sensation through Areef, but he immediately suppressed it. He didn't want whatever he was beginning to feel towards her to become real.

Even looking into her eyes was dangerous enough.

“Let go of me. I don't have time for this drama,” Nadrah said, struggling to free her wrist.

Truthfully, there was something about Areef's eyes that frightened her.

But she wasn't going to let him know that.

Her phone began ringing inside her car.

Her anxiety immediately returned.

She knew without checking that it was probably Nafisa.

Nadrah reached into her handbag and grabbed a handful of money without even checking the amount.

She threw it straight into Areef's face.

“I know that's what you want! You're nothing but a money-hungry man. If you're begging for money to repair your car, you should have simply said so. If you'd told me from the beginning that money was what you wanted, I wouldn't have wasted my time apologizing to you while you kept delaying me here!”

With tremendous force, she pulled her hand free.

Then she turned and walked away, leaving Areef completely stunned.

He could only stare after her.

This little girl had actually stood there and spoken to him like that.

Nobody had ever treated him that way before.

And, unbelievably, she had just called him a **beggar**.

His bodyguards moved to follow her, but Areef immediately raised his hand, ordering them to stop.

They watched as Nadrah climbed into her car, started it and drove away without even glancing back at them.

Areef remained standing there.

For almost ten full minutes, he didn't move.

He seemed completely unable to process what had just happened.

By now, people had begun gathering around them and staring.

His driver finally spoke.

“Sir Areef, let's leave this place. People are beginning to gather.”

Areef squeezed his eyes shut as the memory of Nadrah throwing money into his face replayed in his mind.

Suddenly, he slammed his fist against the car so hard that the metal dented.

Breathing heavily with rage, he growled,

**“How dare you?”**
