ABOUT THIS BOOK
Description
I saw a young woman, a lady in her late twenties to early thirties, seated on a row of iron chairs in the hospital reception. This was the place where new patients and visitors usually waited before being directed further into the hospital.
From her appearance, it was clear she was deeply anxious. Every now and then, she checked the wristwatch on her hand, clearly counting the minutes. At other times, she would stand up and peer down a long corridor that led toward the hospital’s operating theater.
On her final return to the chair, she clicked her tongue in frustration and muttered to herself, complaining about how long the procedure was taking. She scolded the girl inside for always getting herself into trouble and causing embarrassment. Holding two mobile phones, she sighed angrily, complaining about the constant calls from a man she clearly didn’t want to deal with. She concluded by saying that if she became too tired of waiting, she would simply leave.
Inside the Operating Theater
Inside the operating room, there was a very young girl, no older than sixteen, lying on the surgical bed. She was dressed in a hospital gown prepared for surgery.
A nurse arranged the medical instruments neatly while the doctor entered the room and locked the door. After greeting the nurse, she stepped aside into a nearby room. The doctor picked up a file, checked the name, and confirmed it with the girl, who nodded quietly in response.
Pulling a stool closer, the doctor spoke to her in a calm, low voice, explaining her medical condition and confirming the purpose of the procedure. The girl admitted softly that she was at fault and begged him not to ask further questions, only to help her and let everything be over.
The doctor examined her briefly in a professional manner, listening carefully and observing her condition. After a short while, he stepped back, preparing the necessary equipment for the procedure.
The girl, visibly frightened, expressed her fear of pain. Tears formed in her eyes as she pleaded gently. The doctor hesitated, then told her there was another option, but only if she cooperated fully without argument.
Desperate and scared, she agreed.
At that point, the doctor’s behavior began to change, and the situation turned threatening. When the girl questioned him in fear, he angrily told her to leave if she wasn’t willing to comply, shouting harshly and ending the conversation abruptly.
