Afnan’s Struggle
Since Fadeela rose from Afnan’s side, she lay there struggling to breathe. The fluid flowing from Afnan’s private part caught Fadeela’s attention. She began licking it, smiling, saying, “Wow, Afnan, you’re so sweet. I’ll never leave you. I’m enjoying this so much now. I didn’t rush to kill Areef because of this pleasure. Oh, Afnan, you’re truly special. You’ve surpassed many men.”
Sitting there, murmuring these words, her phone suddenly rang loudly. Slowly, she picked it up to see who it was. It was Zee, her sister. Fadeela sighed and muttered, “That troublesome girl again. I suspected disaster.” She answered, “Hello?”
On the other end, Zee said, “I’m fine, aunty, but I was calling about Afnan and to check on Areef. You know I didn’t go, yet you said you had news. It’s been two days now. Can you give me a description of the hospital so I can come over?”
“Afnan is your sister, so you won’t be able to see her. Even if you go, she won’t be at the hospital. I didn’t find them either. I even went to their house, but they said she never returned,” Fadeela replied.
Zee was silent, then said, “I’m giving up. If you’re not Mayya, I must hear something. This is nonsense.”
“That’s true, but I know Afnan has no one. She has no place to go except their home or ours. So aunty, where did you go and where did you stay?”
“To where your mother sent me. I’m tired of this girl’s betrayal,” Fadeela said, cutting the call and lowering her head.
Fadeela thought to herself, “This girl has betrayed me. I’ll change my number now before she harms me more.”
Afnan Awakens
Afnan’s eyes slowly opened, pain coursing through her. She was crying so much her face was swollen and red. Her lips parted weakly as she whispered, “Aunty Fadeela, I want water.”
Fadeela smiled softly and said, “Baby, I’m here. Let me get you some water.” Afnan nodded but said nothing further. Fadeela left the room.
Tears streamed down Afnan’s cheeks. Her body ached terribly. She clenched her eyes shut, remembering her brother Areef, who was supposed to take care of her, give her a bath, and comfort her. But now these evil people had separated her from him. Her sobs grew louder and painful, lodged deep in her throat.
Fadeela’s Cruelty
Fadeela returned, placing the water by Afnan. She knelt and licked Afnan’s face, tasting her tears. Afnan said nothing, but her eyes showed a desperate plea.
“Have I entered madness? Or have I become a witch?” Fadeela muttered to herself. “What are you thinking, Afnan? Everything is sweet to me. You should just drink the water.”
Afnan looked at the water with fear. She felt as if the water might be poisoned but knew she had to drink it. “Even if it’s poison, I prefer death to this life,” she thought.
She raised the glass and drank slowly until finished, then set it down. Fadeela smiled wickedly and said, “Mashallah, my sweet baby.”
Suddenly, Fadeela’s phone rang again. It was Kamal. She hurried to answer, “Hello, Kamal. Are you near the house?”
“Yes, I’m almost there. But why did you not answer my call earlier? Are you resting with your friend?” Kamal joked.
“No, I just gave Afnan the water to drink. She refused for a long time. She’s so stubborn. Tonight is a hard night,” Fadeela replied, laughing softly.
Kamal laughed too. “She’s hard to handle. The water won’t start working until later. I’ll call you when I get there to finish her off.”
Fadeela laughed and ended the call.
Afnan overheard everything and her heart pounded faster. Tears poured down uncontrollably. She cried, “Why, aunty? What did I do to you? Why don’t you love me? You’re wicked. May God not forgive you. May you suffer a humiliating death.” Her sobs turned to screams.
Fadeela listened calmly and said, “Why do you say all this? Your voice is sweet. You are special, Afnan.”
Afnan could only stare back, feeling like she had lost all humanity.
At Afnan’s Family Home
Kamal Arrives
Kamal reached Afnan’s house and knocked on the neighbor’s door. A man came out and asked, “Who is it?”
“It’s Kamal, a friend of the late Murigayi,” Kamal answered.
“Oh, Kamal, come in,” the man said.
Kamal greeted him and asked about Afnan’s condition. The man replied, “She’s fine, but after prayer, she went to the hospital and is now at our place.”
“Why hasn’t she returned home? Is she scared?” Kamal asked.
“No, the house has become like a prison for her. She can’t go back,” the man explained. “But the keyholders want to give the house to someone else. They want to sell it.”
Kamal widened his eyes in surprise. “If they sell it, where will she go?”
“She’s not staying at our place either,” the man said.
Kamal nodded, “I’ll bring you the keys.” He went inside, grabbed the keys, and left. Smiling confidently, he said, “The property is now in my hands.”
Planning and Deception
Kamal entered the house, locked the gate behind him, and sat in the living room turning on the AC. He called Fadeela via video call.
“Hello, any news?” he asked.
“Goro has been found,” Fadeela said. “Come to Afnan’s house to see.”
Kamal was surprised, “Really? Where is the girl now?”
Fadeela held up the phone camera to show Afnan lying on the floor, clutching her stomach and crying. Kamal asked, “Is she alright? What did you do to her?”
Fadeela admitted, “I secretly put something in her water. I forgot to ask where Areef’s documents are.”
Kamal sighed, “You have a problem, Fadeela. You better fix this and make her tell us.”
Fadeela nodded, then turned to Afnan and asked, “Where are Areef’s documents?”
Afnan was silent, unable to speak. Fadeela slapped her and shouted, “Will you tell us or not?”
Afnan cried out, “I swear, even if you kill me, I won’t tell you.”
Fadeela grabbed her fiercely, causing Afnan intense pain. Afnan screamed, “I’ll tell you! They are under his cover, all the documents about his lands, our house, and company.”
Fadeela smiled and said, “Good. Now we can move forward.”
