AFNAN TAKUN KARSHE PART 1 COMPLETE HAUSA NOVEL
A story of mystery, identity, and family
A Hidden Storm
In the heart of a bustling northern city named Abenguwa, known for its wealth and social contrast, lived a highly respected businessman, Alhaji Abdullahi. Among the elites of the city, his name opened doors. But within his grand mansion, an emotional storm quietly brewed.
Alhaji Abdullahi had only four biological children—two sons and two daughters. Among them was his eldest, AFNAN—a 12-year-old girl with a soul far older than her age. People said she was born with an old spirit, unusually perceptive, and unusually troubled.
From outside, Afnan was stunning—tall for her age, intelligent, and bold—but within her was a quiet war no one truly understood. The only person she ever trusted completely was her cousin AREEF, her late uncle’s son who had been raised by Alhaji Abdullahi as his own. At 26, Areef was the family’s backbone—mature, calm, and fiercely loyal.
Despite Afnan’s rebellious attitude and frequent disappearances, Areef never gave up on her.
That Friday afternoon, the house was unusually quiet. Everyone sat in the large living room, somber. Even the cheerful little Zaitun, the youngest child, was silent. Areef sat apart, staring at the entrance, brows furrowed.
Then, suddenly—the door swung open.
Afnan entered, hair messy, face tired, her usually sparkling eyes clouded. Her clothes were stained with dust. Gasps filled the room. Hajiya Aishatu, her mother, clutched her chest. "Ya Allah!" she whispered.
Areef shot up from his chair. "Afnan! Ina kika tafi?!"
Afnan stopped, clearly trying to avoid eye contact. Her voice cracked, “Na je gidan su Zee…”
He stepped closer, voice low but firm. "Karya. Waye ya gaya miki kina da ikon fita haka? Ba za ki tsaya ki bata sunan kanki ba!"
She froze, trembling. "I'm sorry," she muttered, then burst into tears. Areef softened immediately. He walked up to her and placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Let’s go inside," he said gently.
Inside her room, Areef sat her down. She wept bitterly. “Why am I like this, Yaya Areef? I don’t feel normal. I always feel like something’s missing. I don’t understand myself…”
Areef was quiet for a moment. Then he said, “Sometimes, the strongest people fight battles no one else can see. But wallahi, you’re not alone, Afnan. What you feel doesn’t make you strange. It just means you need answers. And I promise you, we will find them.”
She looked at him with hopeful, teary eyes. “You believe me?”
“With all my heart.”
The Secret Behind the Walls
Later that evening, while Areef was at his office, his close friend Kamal dropped by. But their friendly chat took a sour turn when Kamal, without understanding, spoke about Afnan mockingly—blaming her for things he barely knew.
Furious, Areef stood up, voice like thunder. "Don't ever speak of her like that again! You don’t know anything about what she’s going through."
Kamal, shocked and humiliated, stormed out. But inside, he made a dangerous decision—to find out more about the girl who made his powerful friend so protective.
Meanwhile, Afnan sat with her journal in her room. As she scribbled furiously, she began to recall strange memories—faces she didn’t recognize, voices in her dreams, and words she didn’t understand.
And in a hidden drawer beneath her wardrobe, she pulled out an envelope she had found weeks ago. Inside was a photo… a baby… held by a woman that wasn’t Hajiya Aishatu.
Afnan whispered to herself, “Who am I… really?”
