ABOUT THIS BOOK
Description
A young girl repeatedly waits at the gate of a wealthy woman, hoping to ask for domestic work. Her siblings are seriously ill in hospital, and doctors say they need operations, but she has no money to pay for their treatment. After the gatekeeper harshly insults and dismisses her, he notices her distress and learns the reason for her persistence. Moved by her courage and responsibility, he apologizes, offers her tea, and promises to help her meet his employer. As they wait, he comforts her with words of faith and joins her in prayer. At last, the woman returns in her expensive car, accompanied by girls she has brought from the village. The girl remains hopeful as the gatekeeper prepares to present her request. This opening portrays hardship, compassion, family devotion, and the search for an honest opportunity in difficult circumstances.
